Cruz says Senate Republicans likely have votes to confirm Trump Supreme Court nominee
quote:
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said on Sunday that Senate Republicans have the votes to confirm President Trump's Supreme Court nominee following the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, noting it was “particularly important” that the chamber do so before Election Day.
When asked by host George Stephanopoulos on ABC's “This Week” if Republicans have the votes to confirm a new justice, Cruz said it was likely. He then pivoted toward Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden challenging the election results while staunchly avoiding the notion that Trump has said he would do so if results show he lost.
“I believe we will,” Cruz said of having the votes to confirm a Supreme Court nomination. “I think it is particularly important that the Senate take it up and confirm this nomination before the election because Joe Biden has been explicit. He has said if he doesn’t win, he’s going to challenge this election. He’s going to go to court, he’s going to challenge, he’s already hired a big legal team. Hillary Clinton has told Joe Biden under no circumstances should you concede. Given that, there is a serious risk of a constitutional crisis if Joe Biden is bringing litigation like we had in Bush v. Gore.”

What would the basis of the impeachment be?
I asked that honestly, he would be impeached for what exactly?
Well it was for absolutely nothing the last time.
My two questions are
1) Who would possibly give a single shite if they impeached him again with no real end goal?
2) What makes them think that impeaching him again would hold up a SCOTUS nomination?
Just not a very well thought out plan.

Former Clinton aide George Stephanopoulos floats impeaching @realDonaldTrump or AG Bill Barr to Nancy Pelosi to prevent Trump from filling the vacancy on the Supreme Court.
Does anybody really doubt this little shithead has been the main agent provocateur in the media for the past 4 years?
“Former Clinton aide” nothing. He still works for them.

I told y’all. The Dems can’t help themselves. Just the mere possibility of Trump naming a nominee has them going off the rails. A nominee will push them over the cliff. With a national election not far out, the voting public is going to get a front row seat to Kavanaugh part 2, only I suspect this one will make the first one seem tame by comparison.

if there is an impeachment it would delay the senate, thus delaying the sc nomination till after the election so biden can pick- assuming the dems steal the election

Not honoring the dying wishes of Justice Ginsburg

Lets hope so, attacking a female, god fearing, mom, who donates her time to feeding the homeless, and adopts kids from Haiti, should go over real well with those soccer moms in the burbs.
Me too, my arse, about as sincere as the environmentalists burning down forests out west.

It would not delay the Senate at all
Why would it delay the Senate?
Senate doesnt have to do shite with an impeachment recommendation

What says the Senate has to take up an impeachment hearing before voting to confirm a Supreme Court Justice?
