Can the Dems get 50 senators to vote for it, though?

Honestly this is better than made up SC right to an abortion.

And it will be fun to watch them try to get 2 Or so moderates in the Senate, because the law will end up watered down

How many Rs voted in favor of the gun control bill? That's your answer.

Oh hell yeah I'd love to see the specifics. This is simply performative as always with them.

Yeah, it’s going nowhere in the Senate based on what I’ve heard from the usual suspects like Cassidy, Romney, Et all…. Even these turncoats seem to like the recent ruling

Yep 100%

Starts to look like the ruling was made and dropped at an opportune time.

Now they start with codifying abortion so it can be a hot issue heading into midterms where they need all the help they can get.

Make the midterms about identity politics in an attempt to use it as a distraction from the shitty economy and policies of Biden

How would it not be overturned by the SC. They just said it was a states right issue.

Nope, not unless he backtracks, which is always possible

it'll be the 1 thing Cassidy can point to in 4.5 years if he wants to try to stay in the Senate

They could go all in and remove the filibuster.

They'll get it. Americans overwhelmingly want exceptions for rape and incest even if they don't otherwise support abortion. I don't think they'll have a problem getting 60. They did for gun control.
