So the real election tampering is now in full view of everyone.

And if the fed gov tries to look deeper into the voter registry of some of the more liberal states...the fed gov gets struck down by a hundred different activist judges in order to protect the right of those states, to have illegals illegally vote.

No, Shorty, I SAID that I had no reason to disbelieve DiPrima’s account of Professor Kelly’s opinion, just because DiPrima is a liberal .... especially given that the account was consistent with observation of Trump and the opinions of others who have interacted with Trump. Tillerson jumps to mind.

I did admit that I later went back and read other op-eds from DiPrima and acknowledged that he is quite liberal.

NONE of which is relevant to the question at hand ... at what level should we make decisions about who is included in the electorate for a given position/office.

Um, you said

quote:

DiPrima is a very bright guy who dislikes Trump intensely. The denizens of this forum just assume that he would fabricate a statement by a now-deceased, dear friend about Trump. I do not make that jump.

This indicates that you were familiar enough with DiPrima to speak for his intelligence hence.........your whole, "I went back and read other shite by him later" lie is......well......an OBVIOUS lie.

Nice Try.

Personally, if I were you and planned to KEEP lying about this, I'd go back and delete my posts at least.

HYPOTHETICAL.

South Africa implodes. 100,000 Right-leaning Boers move to an important swing state and start farming. The citizens of that state hold a referendum and give them the franchise in state and local elections.

Will we see the same level of whining as we see in response to San Francisco allowing non-citizens to vote in school board elections?

If the answer is yes, you are principled. If the answer is no, you are a blind partisan.

while your "concept" is interesting, there appears to be so much wrong with that.

Would love for my state to outlaw voting locally for all but property owners.

The relevance is the fact that you're reasons for being in the thread are because you are a DailyKos liberal who, like others before you, comes on to boards masquerading as some middle of the road "voice of reason" so you can steer threads in what you THINK is a less obvious manner.

Why? They are entirely consistent. The fact that you cannot see that says far more about you than me.

Were they brought here by the US government and given a legal status or did they swim across the Atlantic, set up shop in Colorado, and begin farming 100,000 farmers' worth of land in the dead of night?

Go one step further.

Large property owners have a larger investment/stake in the local jurisdiction than small property owners. Should my family’s ownership of 3000 acres of prime ranch land give us 100x the voting stake of the family that owns a modest home in town?

That would indeed be the next question, but you did not answer the first one .. not that I expected you to do so.

. . . asked and answered . . . several times.

Put in other terms, explicit rights of citizens as voters are infringed whenever a noncitizen votes.

I misread this earlier and didn't realize you meant a US state.

Of course, I assumed that for the sake of honesty, your hypothetical assumes the Boers are NOT here legally and just somehow slipped through the cracks. You wouldn't be trying to slip one thru would ya
