I can kiss them goodbye with people like you and the OP in charge also.
All you are doing is establishing the right of the government to make religious decisions with the false notion that it will benefit you.
Sounds like you can go with them.
What you are not understanding is that Islam is more than a religion. It is a political ideology bent on world domination (submission to Allah).
Jesus, when facing Pilate, said Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.” John 18:36
By contrast, Muhammad says:
Quran 9:29
“Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture—[fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.”
This directly commands fighting People of the Book (Jews and Christians) not merely in self-defense, but until they submit politically and pay the jizya in a state of humiliation. The goal is subjugation under Islamic rule.
Would you like more? Think this is a one off?
Quran 8:39 (parallel to 2:193)
“And fight them until there is no fitnah and [until] the religion, all of it, is for Allah. And if they cease—then indeed, Allah is Seeing of what they do.”
Quran 9:73
“O Prophet, fight against the disbelievers (that includes atheists btw) and the hypocrites and be harsh upon them. And their refuge is Hell, and wretched is the destination.”
This is what Islam requires. This is what you’re supporting.

Which one is it? Do you choose to limit the freedom of others to preserve your own and that of your society, culture and country or do you choose to give that other group freedom enough to eventually take yours and that of everyone else?
I chose to leave the constitution alone, and refer to amendment 2.

And before you answer, understand that history shows us there is no third option.
Again, amendment 2. Now, who has the balls to stand up and kick this motherfricker off?
Hiding behind politics ain't gonna do it. The politicians won't do it.
Law this, law that.

The 1st amendment was added to the constitution to prevent Christians from taking away the religious freedom of others.

Correct.
And since Islam takes away the religious freedoms of others, Islam is unconstitutional.
You're almost there.

This is the problem, you think you can kill a culture, by passing a law.
A good understanding of history will show you why war or love are the only solutions.
Agreed. Let's take another example. How well did law fare against alcohol during the prohibition?
Way of the gun. They want holy war, give it to them.

that you bumpkins are all bent out of shape because you've seen stuff on x that muslims are taking over dfw and the united states when the reality is that they're only 1.3% of the US population where as catholics are 22% of the US population, just wait burning you heretics on the stake again.
the thing about catholics we're smart enough to keep our real intentions off X!

Yeah, Im all up for fighting islam but this absolutely is the wrong way to go about it. Its anti-american and would immediately be used by democrats to attack every other religion cough only Christianity and Judaism, though Cough

So do Christians. Which is why we have the 1st amendment to begin with. It's why the OP is looking for ways to go around the 1st amendment and destroy it.
This thread is just people wanting to decide what religions people are allowed to have. And most of you are Christians.
What else do you hate about America?

Your entire premise is a false dilemma.
All of this shows your limits in understanding the subject. What I'm doing is admitting the uncomfortable truth of reality and making a decision based on that truth. What you're doing is hiding behind cliche and rhetoric to avoid having to make a decision when the only options are disagreeable (ie: cowardice), that's evidenced by your stance that the dilemma is false with no backing of the claim whatsoever.
So to that, I've laid out the dilemma and provided and history provides the proof of it. There is not a single Muslim-majority country which has as many personal freedoms as the US and that's because of the expansion of Islam into the country to the point where it becomes imposed on society at large.
Where is your proof that the dilemma is false?

Exactly. They view the 1st amendment as a restriction when it's actually a protection. And they want to remove that protection.
We should stop the immigration.
We should deport the ones who do not assimilate.
The things they claim they fear they will do are individually already illegal. However, if they remove the 1st amendment, they would suddenly become legal and Muslims would actually gain the right to impose their religion on others.
With friends like these, who needs enemies.

here's an idea foo, since there 4-4.5 million muslims in the united states, if they're going to take over merica n' such they're gonna have their hands full as they're 77 million roman catholics in the united states!
so let's just cut to the chase and make the roman catholic church our national religion! it's the largest christian denomination in the world 1.4 billion! 2000 years old!
let's say a hail mary and celebrate!

We could just stop allowing them to come into the country to start with. We could just deport the ones who don't assimilate.
Careful, sounds awfully close to government banning a particular religion.
So if I understand your position, Islam is so bad that we should ban its followers from coming here, and we should also deport people who don’t assimilate. But we also need to allow Islam in the Us at the same time because it’s mean of Christians to notice what majority Muslim societies look like. Got it

I didn't force you to try and claim there are only 2 choices. You made the false dilemma because you want to try and control the narrative and I ain't fricking doing it.
You can stop immigration. You can deport people who don't assimilate and so on. You can maybe even stop electing people who are pieces of shite because you think the other person is a piece of shite.
You can do all other kinds of things outside your narrow-minded view of the world while you claim everyone else has a limitation in understanding.

quote:That is quite the broad statement, and is not historically true. Banning governmental tyranny is not antithetical to western thought, for example.
Banning things you don't agree with is antithetical to all western thought.

I don't want to ban your religion because you are Christian, I want to ban your specific version because it's antithetical to all things Jesus stood for.

Those conditions should apply to anyone regardless of their religion.
If someone isn't coming here for freedom and liberty and the better life that provides, they have no business coming here.
They are enemies to the constitution, which is what people in the military actually take an oath to defend.

This entire country was pretty much founded by people trying to get away from people like you.
The 1st amendment wasn't added because they feared Muslims, it was added because they feared Christians who would take away the religious freedoms of others.
It turns out this problem was addressed 250 years ago and you are all just still pissed about it.

quote:It won’t be illegal if Islam continues to grow and Muslims start taking over. They will use our own system against us, making unconstitutional laws, supporting those unconstitutional laws through jurists that value Islam above the Constitution, or refusing to enforce the Constitution and our laws (or enforcing their own laws) through the executive branch and law-enforcement. We see this happen today with leftists skirting the laws for their ideology, and Islam will do the same thing.
