This is low-effort. Most of the folks who actually hate Trump aren't voting for a Republican anyway, so I don't particularly care what they think about the Republican primary.

More likely, you have folks who aren't particularly hateful toward him. They simply see him for what he is and don't want to give him another four years of incompetence just to "own the libtards."

He is almost 45 years old, not 19.

Sick and tired of the political classes believing that career, four decade politicians somehow "deserve" public office just because they have been in politics for decades.

No more senior citizen Presidents.

If his bright shining political star burns out between 45 and 50 then there may be a problem.

No, it’s not, especially when Trump loses in 2024. He’ll claim fraud, you’ll slurp it up, it’ll still be his turn in 2028. His age doesn’t matter to you now and it won’t matter then. His style doesn’t disqualify him now and it won’t then.

You’ll still claim Ron is a globalist plant in 2028 just as you are now.

McCain did not want to be President. McCain wanted to ruin Palin.

MCCain even forbid Palin from using the full name of Barack HUSSEIN Obama. McCain was a snake and loved by the RINO establishment.

Who said that it would? The notion that someone who is 45 has to wait so that some old people can have their turn is patently absurd.

2024 is DeSantis' best window. By '28 he will have been out of office for two years and he will have company on the GOP bench by then to replace whoever beats Trump in 2024.

How dare he shut down cringeworthy pandering to the lowest IQ segment of the GOP base.

And I wasn't even a McCain fan. Harping on the HuSsEIn thing was just really dumb.

It doesn’t have to be “because of some old people having their turn” that 2028 might be his best route. It could also simply be that the cost/benefit analysis for himself could possibly dictate that it’s his best move personally.

Right. That isn't what the thread is about, or what any comment I have made is considering.

This thread is about Palin telling DeSantis not to run because he's young and has time later and he needs to wait for old people to run and lose first.

My bad. I forgot the strict rule of threads staying precisely on point and not deviating an inch. And age could would and should be a factor in that hypothetical cost-benefit analysis anyway.

The problem is that so many of the Trump/MAGA cultists would rather nominate a losing but “pure” ticket than actually win the election with someone that reflects 90% of their values and is personally tolerable for the people in the middle.

Instead, they’ll wind up with Brandon for 4 more years and spend the whole time whining about cheating rather than looking in the mirror.

Exactly. I love Trumps policies for the most part. I’m simply realistic enough to see that he has zero chance of actually winning an election. Just like Hillary in 2016, everyone has already made up their minds whether or not they like the guy. There aren’t votes to persuade.

I’d rather get 80-90% of what I want and win than aim for 100% and guarantee myself to get 0%.

Let the process play out, then. You wouldn't have to hope if we nominated a candidate with a better chance to win the general election.

You've been a mouthpiece for Trump against DeSantis.

You're much too smart to think it's not a massive gamble for one of the most popular politicians in America to postpone for 4 years
