According to Kiplinger $240k is the median for the largest 100 metro areas. Presumably young people just starting out understand that they're probably not going to be buying the median for their first home.

OP says he's buying a 4bed 3bath home with many extras along with paying off his student loans, and you respond with this is what most people do within 2 years of finishing college. Stop changing data now to back away from your original, pretentious, ignorant statement.

It would help if you could actually read. I responded with a question, not a claim, and I specifically stated that what the OP bought probably wouldn't be a first house for most people starting out. I'll bold it this time for you.

Don't most people do that within a couple of years of graduating? Obviously not a 4/3 large house, but I thought you graduated, saved up for a couple of years for a down payment, then bought a house.

Yeah, but did you build the roads and bridges leading to your house? How about the sewer and water systems, schools, fire departments? I bet you didn't build those either.

Congrats man! I've got about 3 more years to go. Well I already have the house though. Wife finishes in spring of 21...then it will be 2 years of dumping money on debts. I will be thrilled just to get to the start of that 2 years. The extra income after that will be amazing. This is your thread though, so congrats.

God I wish I lived in the south. That would cost upwards of a million here

Sucker. Should have paid off the credit card and let Warren take care of the student loan.

Along with signed a purchase agreement on a 4 bedroom, 3 bath house with living room, dining room, office, and a large room which I will make into a bar with poker table, pool table, 2 TVs for gatherings with my friends to watch the games.

Thank you President Trump for the great economy that made this all possible for a 29 year old

This is awesome, I accomplished this under the Obama administration at the beginning buying my first home and end when I bought my second house the last year 2016 with an even lower interest rate during a record economy.

What do we get if we never had any student debt?

I want tax credits over the course of 4 years as compensation and reparations for the mental anguish I endured living in the shittiest rental house in Cleveland, MS to survive.

When was the last time you bought a house? 250K is a very modest home in most places.

I’m getting this one for around 130k and seller paying all closing costs.

But I live in an area where houses are cheap

I definitely remember you wavering on the GEOTUS more than once.

Trust the process.

Trump needs to find some people of all races and genders with stories similar to yours to be a campaign ad of them saying that a good economy is a rising tide that lifts all boats.
