PAGE Confirms Strzok’s “There’s no Big There There” Text Message Referred to Trump-Russia

John Solomon of The Hill:
For any American who wants an answer sooner, there are just five words, among the thousands of suggestive texts Page and Strzok exchanged, that you should read.
That passage was transmitted on May 19, 2017. “There’s no big there there,” Strzok texted.
The date of the text long has intrigued investigators: It is two days after Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein named special counsel Robert Mueller to oversee an investigation into alleged collusion between Trump and the Russia campaign.
Since the text was turned over to Congress, investigators wondered whether it referred to the evidence against the Trump campaign.
This month, they finally got the chance to ask. Strzok declined to say — but Page, during a closed-door interview with lawmakers, confirmed in the most pained and contorted way that the message in fact referred to the quality of the Russia case, according to multiple eyewitnesses.
The admission is deeply consequential. It means Rosenstein unleashed the most awesome powers of a special counsel to investigate an allegation that the key FBI officials, driving the investigation for 10 months beforehand, did not think was “there.”
By the time of the text and Mueller’s appointment, the FBI’s best counterintelligence agents had had plenty of time to dig. They knowingly used a dossier funded by Hillary Clinton’s campaign — which contained uncorroborated allegations — to persuade the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court to issue a warrant to monitor Trump campaign adviser Carter Page (no relation to Lisa Page).

I never though Page would be the hero in all of this, but I admire her courage.

Paul McCleary, writing for the Columbia Journalism Review has been critical of John Solomon's reporting.[16] In 2007, he wrote that Solomon had earned a reputation for hyping stories without solid foundation.[16] In 2012, Mariah Blake, writing for the Columbia Journalism Review, wrote that Solomon "has a history of bending the truth to his storyline," and that he "was notorious for massaging facts to conjure phantom scandals."[17] In 2007, Deborah Howell, then-ombudsman at The Washington Post criticized a story that Solomon wrote for The Post which had suggested impropriety by Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards in a real estate purchase; Solomon failed to add context which would have made clear that there was no impropriety.[18] Progressivenews outlets ThinkProgress, Media Matters for America and Crooked Media have argued that Solomon's reporting has a conservative bias and that there are multiple instances of inaccuracies.[19][20][21] Reporters who worked under Solomon as an editor have said that he encouraged them to bend the truth to fit a pre-existing narrative.[17]
In January 2018, Solomon published a report for The Hill suggesting that Peter Strzok and Lisa Page had foreknowledge of a Wall Street Journal article and that they themselves had leaked to the Wall Street Journal.[22] According to the Huffington Post, Solomon's reporting omitted that the Wall Street Journal article Strzok and Page were discussing was critical of Hillary Clinton and the FBI, Strzok and Page expressed dismay at the fallout from the article, and Strzok and Page criticized unauthorized leaks from the FBI. According to the Huffington Post, "Solomon told HuffPost he was not authorized to speak and does not comment on his reporting. He may simply have been unaware of these three facts when he published his story. But they provide crucial context to an incomplete narrative that has been bouncing around the right-wing echo chamber all week."[22]
That same month, Erik Wemple of The Washington Post said that newsroom staffers at The Hill had complained about Solomon's reporting for the publication.[23] The staffers reportedly criticized Solomon's reporting as having a conservative bias and missing important context, and that this undermined The Hill's reputation.[23] They also expressed concerns over Solomon's close relationship with Sean Hannity, whose TV show he appeared on more than a dozen times over a span of three months.[23]

His reporting doesn't matter. If the quote is true, it speaks for itself.

the sad thing is, nobody will move on this revelation.
Gowdy will just go on CNN and grandstand about being tough and then go back to being the lamb he really is.

Now, as I mentioned, the "beauty" of that is every nation like Russia or the US "meddles". That's such an incredibly low bar for every day conversation
I wonder if they call it meddling when the Clintons take millions from Chinamen and Saudis. Or is that just charity with no policy expectation?

It's not a revelation. That text has been around at least since January.
And exactly what do you suggest as being a "move" on this revelation.
Close the Mueller investigation because of Strzok's text?

No because of the witness Matlock.

The staffers criticizing Solomon's fact based articles must be the type of journalist that ignores the facts, if it does not support their biased agenda.
Fine. Which FACTS below are untrue? None. That's what I thought.

They sat on Carter Page’s phones and emails for nearly six months without getting evidence that would warrant prosecuting him. The evidence they had gathered was deemed so weak that their boss, then-FBI Director James Comey, was forced to admit to Congress after being fired by Trump that the core allegation remained substantially uncorroborated.
In other words, they had a big nothing burger. And, based on that empty-calorie dish, Rosenstein authorized the buffet menu of a special prosecutor that has cost America millions of dollars and months of political strife.

Close the Mueller investigation because of Strzok's text?
There’s a whole laundry list of reasons to close the Mueller investigation, and Strzoks text is towards the very bottom of that list. At the top of the list would be the fact that there is NO CRIME to investigate that involves POTUS or his campaign. There are no intelligence documents (which are required by law) to initiate such an investigation. And of course, that also means there’s no actual evidence to investigate. Strozks text simply confirms what every other person with a single functioning brain cell already knows- There’s NO THERE, THERE. Muellers desperate indictments against Russians every few months confirms this as well. He has NOTHING. He’s throwing out Hail Mary indictments that mean NOTHING. Those people won’t ever see the inside of a courtroom in this country. It’s nothing more than an attempt to stay relevant and appear as though he’s accomplished something.
Mueller is doing nothing more than wasting massive amounts of taxpayer dollars, lining his and his Dem lawyer friends’ pockets, and giving the dumbasses in your party something to scream about through the midterms. Because “muh Russia” is all y’all have at this point.
Honest question- does Trump act like somebody worried about being “charged with a crime” to you?!?! Seriously?! He just had a private meeting and a bilateral -nationally televised- press conference with the man he’s accused of colluding with to rig the election! Hes not secretly send pallets of cash over to Putin in the dead of night or anything super suspicious like that.. His actions are those of a man who is confident he’s done nothing wrong. He’s not worried about Bob Mueller. He’s just doing the job he was elected to do- and sitting back watching the idiots in the Democratic Party dig their own graves.

As long as Mueller is still churning and RR is in power the left has hope
They are not going to give that up willingly
