While there is absolutely something fishy about this whole story, this isn't something I'd include.

I was taught not to live above my means. I'd say I live far below it actually. Simple apartment, really only expensive things are my mattress and couches but that's for my bad back(and I'm young, so sucks). No need to spend money or buy a bigger house. I make close to 100k a year, and will make way more by next year since I put a lot into my business this year. So doesn't mean much. Some of us don't spend what we don't need.

so your criticism is that he doesn't live in a crappier neighborhood? location, location, location

I can think of two family friends who are worth about 7 and 20 million respectively. One lives in a double wide and the other in a house that would barely bring 100k on the market. They each have bought a pile of land and have all the toys though.

Don't want to draw suspicion. This was the house of a big meth cook/dealer in New Mexico...

One news story stated that neighbors had noticed and become curious about a safe in the garage, the size of a fridge. Couldn’t see it clearly in the pic.

The guy dating Danley's sister said Paddock had talked about his gun room. Wonder if his gun safe wouldn’t fit into his gun room?

BTW - I can just imagine some FBI agent saying, "frick yo garage door!" as that thing was torn down.

I know a billionaire that lives in a 500k house and loves it

I had a meeting once in Monterrey, MX also with a billionaire although I didn't know what he looked like. So some guy walks in the room with very UN-ironed clothes on, unshaven and looked like a vagrant.

Come to find out, the vagrant was the billionaire When we walked down to the garage for lunch, he had a yellow Bugati parked there.

House got protected and served!

That's where the Agencies entered the residence under the search warrant.

Justifiable? of course not.

Understandable? of course.

you know this for a fact? so it couldn't have been a bomb-sniffing robot used to bust into the garage in case it was rigged to explode?

its not like they found 50lbs of tannerite in his car or anything...

Guy was a mid level accountant who had no wife or kids.

Probably not too hard to amass 2-3 million bucks net worth, with a couple of 300k houses and a rental property here and there, which would give him pretty easy access to 100k cash if needed to send to his girlfriend as he plans to go out in his blaze of glory end.

It certainly doesn't appear he was some sort of jetsetting gazillionaire, though.

Show me a bomb sniffing robot that lays rubber peeling out and that could be in use here.

ETA: also show me a protocol that calls for aggressively ripping into a possible explosives storage area.

At one time he owned a Cirrus, which at the time was about $450,000.

so if instead they hooked the garage door & pulled it out with a truck so they can see the contents all at once you don't feel was justifiable?

i mean shitty garage doors like that are $300 at home depot and bend easily. i sure wouldn't want to be the one standing next to it and rolling it up by hand.
