Even right wing political news analysts go off a script. They have to stay on message. They can’t consider any other way. These people were trained to stay on message, and that staying on message will make them successful. They’re followers, even when they’re writing their own scripts

This is all by design to make Trump look out of touch and elitist by playing a game associated with the rich. Well, he is rich and owns golf courses. Kinda obvious why he likes to play golf. Plus, just about every modern president has played golf at one point or another, but we the naïve and stupid public are supposed to have forgotten that by now.
The irony of it is that those folks in the media giving him a hard time are the ones that through words, actions and politicos view themselves as the true elites.

True story. A local TV channel 3 news guy told me he covered Clinton playing golf in the Dallas area during his campaign tour. He said Clinton takes the equivalent of one mulligan per hole. That saves you more than one stroke per hole because a lot of shots get you into trouble that takes more than one to get out of.

Trump was right in calling out Wallace. Wallace owed everyone an apology after the charade regarding the door pull at his stall.
In their own way, the NASCAR Drivers are starting to punch back. Starting with the "Trump" car last week and a "Support Blue" Truck in yesterday's race. I believe a race or two will go by and someone along the way will put Wallace into the wall for using the entire Driver population.

No one complained more about Obama playing golf than Trump. He tweeted tons of times about how Obama played tons of golf and how he wouldn’t have time if he was president. Of course, he has played a ton more than Obama at the same point of his presidency.

This is actually pretty instructive for why people get on Trump for the golf thing. You've just set a standard of inappropriate behavior for a President - the ludicrously expensive vacations the Obamas took at taxpayer expense. So now when someone proves that Trump has taken even more vacations at even greater cost to the taxpayers, by proxy you've conceded that his vacationing is ludicrous as well. But if someone points that out, then you'll be all, "what does it matter if he takes vacations. He has a hard job."

Trump can’t stand the heat, but instead of getting out of the kitchen, he tells everybody how much hotter the kitchen is now than ever before and that’s he’s doing a tremendous job, despite all evidence to the contrary.
