Its why I’ve said I have no problem with defending Trump, voting for him, advocating and advancing his policy positions, forcefully rebuking the fake news bullshite the media comes up with to smear Trump and fundraising for him.

But you would have to be absolutely insane or naive as hell to accept him as your employer and actually work for him and tie your professional reputation to him as loyalty is a one way street as far Donald Trump is concerned.

Trump is the biggest loser ever. The guy blames everyone but himself. Can't wait to see this board in 10 years. 99% of you will be like, I always knew Trump was a loser. Trump needs to suck a bag of dicks.

Donald Trump pretending the Vice Presidency actually has real hard power is like the remainers in the UK screaming at the Queen and demanding she stop Brexit and refuse to give royal assent to final Brexit bill and return it to parliament.

Both are figurehead and ceremonial positions with no real hard power to them and both of those requests was never ever going to happen.

The queen is definitely not a figurehead.

quote:

The Queen plays a constitutional role in opening and dissolving Parliament and approving Bills before they become law.

quote:

Although she can no longer dissolve Parliament, Queen Elizabeth II can overrule ministerial advice “in grave constitutional crisis.” According to Parliament, she can “act contrary to or without Ministerial advice.”

quote:

Most government officials in the United Kingdom are chosen through a vote, but the Queen can appoint Ministers to the Crown, including advisors and cabinet officials, herself.

The Queen can also dissolve the Australian government and cannot be prosecuted. She also appoints the governors-general that do have the power to open and dissolve parliament in commonwealth nations.

That's a lot more power than a figurehead would have.

Maybe the VP has more power than you thought, too.

Remember when Pence received a secret coin in a handshake and Pelosi was rubbing elbows with him after certifying the election? I remember.

If it was a ceremonial coin, it wouldn't have been delivered stealthily in a handshake.

If Pence wasn't an establishment whore, Pelosi wouldn't be trying to play buddy-buddy with him.

You GOPe people facilitate the destruction of the country.

Well, in matters of state and ceremony where she acts as head of state, then sure she’s not a figurehead.

But what she is not is the head of government.

When it comes to the dirty work of politics, campaigning and elections, she most sure as shite is a figurehead and she would tell you that is the role and duty of a constitutional monarch and if she acted otherwise as a political actor, that would be the fastest way for the british public opinion to rapidly move towards abolishing the monarchy

A ceremonial function. Nothing more, nothing less.

Most government officials in the United Kingdom are chosen through a vote, but the Queen can appoint Ministers to the Crown, including advisors and cabinet officials, herself.

In modern times, The Queen being this political would be the fastest way for public opinion to move towards abolishing the monarchy and everyone knows that.

quote:

The Queen can also dissolve the Australian government and cannot be prosecuted.

IIRC, during the one time it happened, The Queen has denied she ordered the Governor General to do this and the GG said it was all him and they never did anything like that again.

quote:

She also appoints the governors-general that do have the power to open and dissolve parliament in commonwealth nations.

And those Governors general do not interfere in the political affairs of those countries. They may have the Queen as their head of state but in practice, they are independent nations.

quote:

Maybe the VP has more power than you thought, too.

Actually, all you did was portray how the VP has even less power (albeit ceremonial) and significance than the Queen of the United Kingdom.

The VP’s only power as outlined in the constitution is to break ties in the senate, and that’s it for the position. Nothing more than that.
