That was the engine cover that came off

They likely didn’t put the plug in. I’ve boated most of my life and that boat wouldn’t get swamped like that unless way over loaded.

Buy a whaler next time.

Boats don't sink from ski boat traffic. He either didn't put the plug in, damaged the boat, or has a massive problem with internal ballast bags. 0% chance that boat got swamped by other ski boats.

Everyone in the boat looked to be large enough to count as two, and none were wearing vests. A captain is responsible for the health and safety of his passengers and his boat. If he took out an overloaded boat, that's on him.
