It really chaps your arse that this song has become such a phenomenon. It is beautiful to witness your melt down.

Well, then you’re an idiot, and it really doesn’t matter. My God thinks almost everything the government does is an abomination.

I actually really enjoy the song. Check my post history.

I wasn't referencing this specific government.

Just saying that for most Christians, you could probably create a government that espoused all of their values, but required a high tax rate in order to maintain those values, and they'd be content with it and not see it as being contrary to their God because it would be espousing whatever values they think God espouses.

There are posters that have been around for years that still don't realize el gaucho is a troll account?

I honestly didn't even recognize the name until someone in a different thread said he was a troll.

I can’t explain it but something about this old boy screaming those lyrics out speaks to me. I want to stand up and put my hand in the air and scream he’ll yes.
There is a palpable longing by all the people I know for a leader to stand up and say this out loud. It’s the truth. Why won’t it be spoken ?
I feel no connection to this country anymore and have nothing but contempt for all branches of this compromised government .

And it is obvious why.

Yeah, we’ll have to agree to disagree on that. I don’t think many Christians are communists. What a government gives to someone, it must first take by force from someone else. That is about as anti-Christian as it gets, in my opinion.

Yes, because you're condemning big government in general, not just the American government.

Where did you get communism from? What if a lot of the tax money is being spent on Christian ministries inside and outside of the country?

The negative posters in here don’t understand that this wasn’t designed to be right or left. It’s working class American without race or color. It’s us (citizens) against them (politicians). You can deny it, but it resonates with people.

Yeah, people are looking at this song through their politically colored lenses.

It's straight up anti big government

Any government that requires a high tax rate is going to me some brand of totalitarian, take your pick. Half of the voting public in the US is on the marxist/communist spectrum, so I chose communist. The power to take a large percentage of the public's income is by definition totalitarian.

Nothing in the Bible is wrong, so that makes sense. Still pretty bold of you to quote God out of context. Not a great strategy on your part.

He is singing the thoughts and hearts of everyday, average Americans who pay taxes and make this country great.
Winds of change my friends.
