I know that most abortions are out of convenience. Thats unfortunate but perhaps its time for conservatives to realize this is a losing issue and change the approach to limiting the perceived need of some folks to have abortions. Get behind true pro family legislation and not just pro birth.

There it is, “pro birth, not pro life”

This argument is insane; somehow Pro Life people arguing a mother and father should not kill their child magically shifts the burden of care of that child on the Pro Life person. It’s wild.

“If you were really pro life, you would pay all their bills once they are born”

Listen to how insane that argument is. At the end of the day, Abortion is used by people who want to run from the consequences of their own actions. Libs use lots of slick arguments that work on most low info low IQ people. The rest of us with working brains can easily see through it

I'll be voting Yes on Issue 1, because a woman's body is her own God damn business. Just like a man's. Government should not be involved in dictating what its citizens do or do not do with their own body, right? Like the vaccine? Like alcohol? Tobacco? People make their decisions and whatever Creator there is will deal with them. Why does it bother you SO much?

Because you’re KILLING innocent babies, you idiot!!

With that logic men should never have to pay child support because the bitch decides to keep the bastard that she birthed

I say get behind pro family legislation and not just pro birth and this is your response?

How about expanding the CTC. Many Republicans actually support this. 70% of private-industry workers had no access to paid family leave in 2021, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. How about working on legislation to support that for pregnant women. How about working on legislation to help lower or subsidize daycare which is rediculously expensive and getting harder to find but unfortunally necessary for most families.

Let's deal with the reality of the situation. Abortion will not be banned in this country. So let's try to change the culture and the need while also helping out families that already have kids.

I’ve read more than a few responses on this site when it comes to the abortion issue, a lot were, why do you care? The mother of 4 at the ripe old age of 22 won’t have another baby that the tax payers will have to pay for. I understand that argument, even though LBJ comes to mind because that POS kicked it into high gear. At the same time people in this country can prevent pregnancy if they weren’t lazy, don’t give me the excuse of not being able to afford condoms, in Louisiana they are still free at the Health Unit. At the end of the day, rape, incest, or the child having life altering disabilities is the only way I’m ok with abortion. Killing a child because the parents were lazy just doesn’t sit right with me, tax money be damned.

Get your laws off my body. Put them into my employer’s bank account instead, not to mention the wallet of every tax payer.

When you parrot the “you’re just pro birth, not pro life” lie the left uses, you are missing the entire point. If I am against a mother and father killing their child, that doesn’t shift the burden of responsibility of caring for the child to me. It’s sad that demanding personal responsibility of others is considered cruel in our society.

How many well intentioned “cost saving” government programs have actually done what they say? As someone who pays for daycare currently I don’t want the government getting involved with that at all.

Government programs will not change the culture.

Wow. All of them, 11 boomers, said it should not have been on the ballot because it’s a woman’s choice and body. Men shouldn’t even have a vote on it. I was shocked by the reaction. All negative. All accomplished men, from a career and financial standpoint.

Boomers were the worst generation in history when it comes to passing on a society with morals and values.

There's a reason younger generations hate America...boomers only want a good economy and they don't care about you or their neighbors.

Since when has a woman's body been the topic of a dividing discussion?

You know that women have been having abortions since your God created this Earth, right? It only became an "issue" recently, considering how long humans have occupied this planet.

Is this an argument? "It's always been happening, therefore it should continue to happen and be encouraged/facilitated."

I thought we wanted it to be decided at the State level.

I want most things decided on the state level. That doesn’t mean I’m agnostic of the outcome.

BTW, I hope you realize that legally the overturning of Roe has no bearing on this. The Ohio proposed law was always in their power to enact. Roe only prevented the restrictions on abortion.

That is a childish argument that pretends there is not another body at issue. There is. It is the body of a helpless infant.

You ask why it bothers me so much. I am bothered by it for the exact same reason I am bothered by the Hamas massacre of those civilians. If these things don’t at least “bother” you than you are a monster.

1) stop dating shitty women who use abortion as birth control

2) Women who abort their babies aren't fit to be mothers anyway

Exactly. I've been thinking the exact same thing.

The indifference to abortion comes from the same people indifferent to decapitated babies in Israel.

They are nihilist/atheist/materialists there are no "humans", just "clusters of cells".

For some reason, pro-abortionists have a long history of winning the communication battle in this fight.

Not so. The loser of the argument has always been the winner of the battle. When Roe got overturned it was perfectly predictable that there would be a big backlash against the Republicans. Before that, and for a long time, abortion was a winning issue for the Republicans because the Democrats has succeeded in enabling the horrific abortion industry.

Now I’ll tell you what is going to happen. The Republicans are going to be hammered on this issue until the Democrats succeed in getting wide access for abortion. Once that becomes settled law, Republicans will be able to hammer Democrats on this issue.

The winner on the issue is always the loser politically moving forward - ALWAYS.

Its not about offsetting responsibility. Young people aren't having as many children period. Whether they are having an abortion or using birth control. We can ignore it and say frick it... can't afford em don't have em. Well they arent..And who can blame them. They can barely afford to take care of themselves. At some point this will become a much bigger problem.
