I can't think of a president (besides nixon) who didn't became popular post presidency. It's sort of a formal thing to do out of respect as an american- like your ex presidents.

Hell, carter is liked by many americans now despite how evil he was in office.

I can't stand either one of them. Both were terrible Presidents.

I don't think Carter was "evil" in office. Inept and in over his head, sure. But evil? That's a pretty liberal use of the word there.

I like Bush more in his first term than his second. He's still very likable but I think his response to 9/11 was his high point, which is unfortunate since it was less than a year from his inauguration.

Don't tell that to my dad. He still goes into a profanity laced tirade every time Carter's name is mentioned. He's been cussing that damn Georgia peanut farmer for 40 years now.

Lincoln was hated when he was President, now most people think he's the best we ever had.

My oldest brother gets told he looks like W pretty often now that he's in his mid 50's. I don't mean this in a gross way but I think my brother is better looking. Maybe I'm biased but no one ever said W was hot that I heard and since I've been probably 10 years old friends (friends of friends, acquaintances, etc) have told me omg your brother is so hawt blah blah.

5 years after they left office, I would have happily had a beer with every President since Carter.

Hell. I'd have had a beer with all of them while they were IN office.

Obama is, was, and always will be a repulsive human beimg.

Funny you mention that, 9/11 and Benghazi have a common theme to them.

Sounds like a good guy your dad. Probably similar to me - 52 hostages for 444 days just rubs him the wrong way.
