The biggest ones are the first and last I mentioned. Without those, everything else is meaningless.

The point is that these nepotism hires you reference are either rare, or the students were likely to get in anyway. Because, the stats are completely out of whack even with those figured into the next numbers

If a bunch of stupid white kids with rich alumni dads were getting in, the the racial divide in acceptances based on race and scores would not be so great.

You also make a lot of assumptions that because there is a family or alumni connection, the student was aided by that.

Uhh what do you think defines "hillbilly" and do you think it's a term of endearment?

Your assumption is that veterans preference programs (which I'm also against) are majority white male hires.

Let's see the numbers on that, otherwise your anecdotal evidence is meaningless.

As Dev pointed out, bad example.

Better example is that it's also stupid that the black child of a successful Dentist gets an AA advantage over a white coal miner's kid.

But, really, all that misses the point.

Rigging score requirements and other silliness is a complete Pyhrric benefit for blacks. The detriments FAR outweigh the benefits.

Humans are humans. Set low standards for any group of humans and you reduce accomplishment for that group. Humans respond to competitive pressures. They do this whether we're talking basketball, engineering, music, etc etc etc.

Lowering the bar for success has absolutely predictable results for any group of humans. And beyond that, lowering the bar when EVERYONE knows the bar is being lowered harms perception.........even among those you supposedly intend to help.

The only rampant preferential hiring in the government work force is due to Veterans Preference.

VP is a direct system which allows a minimally qualified veteran to be hired over a more qualified candidate. In other words, an MIT PHD scientist could be passed over for a University of Phoenix grad Veteran.

Strangely i never hear any complaints about this from conservatives?

hahahahahahahahahahaha

Are you a prissy white boy who gallantly volunteers other white people to get fricked by affirmative action?

I bet you are.

I disagree with some of it but this is a very well thought out and good post.

It's interesting to see the defenses of some preferential treatment..considering just whom it tends to favor

All anecdotal evidence is meaningless scientifically if political ideas are involved.
