Yeah, I don't think Trump would accept anything resembling a deal like that, especially since he's repeatedly bashed Obama's deal. So it's probably a bs leak by Iran or one of its de facto proxies like Pakistan.

But just the fact that we're still engaging with these people after several weeks of negotiations, during which time we've issued and then ignored several "deadlines" will, as Senator Wicker said, be perceived as a sign of weakness on the part of the US. We should be loading bombers now (should have weeks ago), not getting jerked around with these bs offers.

I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but I suspect that there are multiple factions in play and competing with each other. There is a very big stick and some equally large carrots on the table. The only deal that makes any sense is regime change collecting the carrots.

While I was initially dismayed by Rubio's statement, given these leaks about a supposed deal, I'm now a bit comforted by his statement that "the Straits need to be open without tolls. They need to turn over their enriched uranium." Iran won't agree to either of those, and I'll give Rubio and Trump the benefit of the doubt that they will enforce those red lines and not accept any deal which backs away from them. I think they are making a big mistake in giving Iran 100 chances to accept a deal they've already rejected, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that it's just a question of timing and not capitulation on our part. As long as we keep the blockade up and tight, we are doing real damage to Iran, though I'd prefer we add a destroyed power grid to the pressure on them.

Deal proposes:

- Open Hormuz Straight with temporary pause in fee collection.

- Reparations to Iran

- Suspension of enrichment above 3.6% for 10 years

- Dilute stockpile of enriched Uranium to 20%

- Remove Iranian sanctions

The amount of spin and cope on message boards and X is going to be epic if/when a deal like that is done

I look forward to our usual suspects on here bringing 10,000 word tweets about how this was all a 6 level deep operation to overthrow the ancient cabal overlords and secretly transfer 80 ga-trillion dollars of wealth from Europe's elites to the US

Also, once the strait is reopened, let's check back in a few weeks on the "beautiful line of beautiful tankers headed to the Gulf of America". I have a feeling it might look a little different once the usual routes are open.

I don't put much stock any longer to anything coming from Axios. They have been wrong about a lot lately.

I cant imagine Trump skipping Jr's wedding then finding out his daughter was targeted for assassination by the IRGC is going to have him in the mood to put up with further BS from the regime in Iran.

It is my hope that he is basically going to tell them either accept our terms or die. And then strike them hard. Every time he extends out "negotiations" that just makes the IRGC even more bold. It does not make him look strong, rather in their eyes it makes him look weak. As I said before, there is only one thing those people respect and that is absolute brute strength.

If that’s the deal that is being reported, we lost the war and wasted a whole bunch of time.
