NEW—The UAE is demanding Iraq “immediately” prevent attacks launched from its territory after a drone strike near the Barakah nuclear plant in Abu Dhabi sparked a fire.
The UAE says Iraq must address “those threats promptly, immediately, and responsibly.”
No injuries or radiation leak were reported.

These countries know who the groups are, they know where they are but yet do nothing about it. The are some of the wealthiest countries on the planet yet have to use mercenaries an it’s surprising to me after all these years of conflict they don’t have better military capabilities.

I wonder what "beyond the region" means?
Are they going to start lobbying missiles at Europe, Africa, Pakistan or India?
They are already hitting their neighbors, but I suspect that they are threatening to use their "hole card" via an international terror campaign. That is just more reason to cut the shake's head off with full regime change.

This is all true, so why does he keep saying it and why the "stalling" on his part to continue with destruction of IRGC? Why did he bring all that firepower into the region to begin with, and keep it coming after the first effort a couple of weeks ago?
He's not a stupid man, and neither are his advisers and the quantum super AI computers the pentagon must be using. Space force is watching everything, munitions by the plane loads to Israel have been reported recently. Israel keeps announcing that strikes WILL HAPPEN, not might. On and on and on.
What does all this add up to? My wish casting is that somebody, Israel?, US?, 3rd party GCC? has been secretly supplying arms and DRONES w/XBOX controllers (shout out to Auburn 1868) to resistance. This was done in WW11 to French resistance prior to D-Day. I'm really hoping resistance has been armed and our joint forces go hog wild on IRGC hard for 3 days or so. Then call to fight from resistance with back up from the air. Hoping that training has occurred during this stall to call in strikes. Also, Israeli/US personnel in position to help with air support targeting. Without air support I don't believe resistance could beat IRGC and would probably get slaughtered.
On the flip side to my wish casting, I can't believe, at least refuse to believe, that Trump is not going to follow through with aiding the Iranian people from the IRGC maniacs and no effort in getting that Uranium.
Your wishcast, if it comes to fruition, will make a great movie someday.
Re: the fliip side - many times in the past we've offered to help the Kurds with their insurgencies only to pull the rug out from under them and leave them hanging. That was all pre-Trump, but the US has a history of doing that.

Netanyahu will skip both the opening of the Knesset session and a key vote on dissolving parliament today.
That sounds pretty serious.

I imagine a lot of sleeper cells will be awoken in the US. Wonder if they were responsible for this:
Bomb found planted on Alabama Dam

An explosive was discovered underwater at the base of a dam in Alabama that supplies a city and the surrounding region with drinking water.
The device was discovered on Wednesday by divers conducting routine maintenance and repairs on the Converse Reservoir in Mobile County.

This is hilarious.
Imagine in the middle of an ongoing war, Israel and U.S. decide to tell the world about a controversial secret plan with details… yeah because war is about transparency.
I do love how people believe it
I’ve seen enough people saying “this was a bad plan”.
People, please read some war history (anything from beginning of 20th century would do).

On the first day of the Iran War, the Israeli Air Force carried out a strike on the Tehran home of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the former president of Iran known for his hard-line, anti-Israel and anti-American views, which was designed to free him from house arrest and place him in a position to take over the country following the elimination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Plans to place Ahmadinejad in power after the weakening of the current Iranian regime had been developed by the Israelis with the knowledge of the United States, and had been briefed to Ahmadinejad, though quickly went awry after the strike on his home, according to the U.S. officials who were briefed on the matter and spoke to The New York Times.
Ahmadinejad was accidentally injured in the Israeli strike on his home, which destroyed a security outpost at the entrance to his street and killed several members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that were holding him hostage, and though he survived, after the near miss he became disillusioned with the regime change plan and halted further communication with Israel. He has not been seen publicly since then and his current whereabouts and condition are unknown.

If tweet fails to load, click here. My take as well- too many points of major disagreement on nuclear dust, control of Strait, etc. for a deal to really be close. But if just saying otherwise can make gas cheaper, I guess that's the thing to do.This post was edited on 5/20/26 at 10:31 am

Now you have to worry about Trump making a bad deal just to "make a deal" because it's clear he wants an exit ramp. If a "deal" is reached, don't be surprised to see a deal that doesn't address the enriched uranium.

Trump's entire statement was much less dovish than selectively portrayed by initial reports:

Have you seen the detonation of that explosive device?

That seems to be the way things are headed, in the long-term if not the short. The question is whether Israel would stand for that or whether they'd bomb Iranian power plants on their own. Netanyahu has said a number of times that removing the nuclear dust is an absolute red line for them.

Armed clashes between the Iranian Army and the IRGC are reportedly erupting inside Iran.
According to Alhurra, citing informed military and political sources inside Iran, tensions between the regular Army and the IRGC have escalated into armed confrontations in Tehran, Tabriz, Isfahan, and Ahvaz following the death of Khamenei.
If true, this points to serious fractures inside the Islamic Republic’s military and security apparatus at one of the most dangerous moments in the regime’s history.
The backdrop here is important. The founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Khomeini, originally created the IRGC because he feared a military coup from the regular Iranian Army after the revolution.
Over decades, the regime transformed the IRGC into a parallel military empire, giving it far more funding, political influence, economic control, and ideological favoritism than the regular Army.
While the Army was often sidelined and distrusted, the IRGC became the regime’s real power center, controlling major sectors of the economy, missile forces, intelligence operations, and proxy networks across the region.

The Deal that will happen:
-Both sides declare victory
-Iran assets unfrozen (billions) and Iran claims these are "raparations"
-Nuclear sites declared "Death Zones" and Space Force is to monitor them and USA will supposedly kill anyone who enters- no materials removed
-Strait opens
-Inspections agreed to, but violated piece-by-piece
-Iran agrees to only surface construction (nothing underground). They won't honor this
-Iran just waits for a new congress and then President
-Trump claims the Regime has changed

And the Iranian regime becomes bolder and we in turn become less viable and the ME will have a 'winner take all' moment wherein all will be impacted - irrespective side
