It's almost incomprehensible at this point. I keep thinking "ok, he's pulled this 'x leader asked me to hold off' on our super-scary attack" spiel so many times, he can't possibly do it again. And yet it happens again.

Could be a head fake but probably not.

While I like Trump, you cannot ignore the fact that he lets his ego get the best of him at times. He loves making deals and that is what he prides himself on.

I think he is so hung up about being the one that "Makes The Deal" that he cannot accept the fact that these people will never honor any deal. I feel like he wants to hang his hat on the legacy of the being the guy that brought Iran to the table, made them sign a deal and be known for that. In reality, that is just never going to happen with the Islamic Republic and the IRGC. These people are living life through the lens of an ideology that compels them to usher in the end of the world....

Instead of striving for a deal, he should be looking to end these bastards once and for all. Want to cement a legacy? Be known as the guy that took down the largest terrorist state, which led to collapse of it's funded terrorist groups, freed a people held hostage within their own borders and brought stability to an area of the world where no one else had done so before.

But no, lets keep acquiescing to the whims of "mediators" like Pakistan and Qatar, who have financial and military ties to the Islamic Republic of Iran. Same goes with the UAE, the IRGC money launderers for a long time before they got caught in the crossfire. Lets also not forget about Saudi Arabia and their support for Wahhabism and the funneling of money and support to groups including Iran through dark markets.

They are all tied together, and the reason they are suddenly objecting to a regime ending strike, is that all that shite will be laid bare for the whole world to see. And it will known who has been propping up the terrorist state. It would also be a huge blow to the spread of Islam if a major country held hostage by it gets freed and kicks that false, 7th century religion of rape and torture to the curb.

There are several million Iranian's who thought we were there to free them and they are suffering while we attempt diplomacy with people barely above neanderthals on the evolutionary chart. They believed help was on the way, instead they are caught inside a stalemate over "nuclear dust" and the attempt to weaponize of it. Take down the regime and you don't have to worry the nuclear issue at all.

If we don't want to get our hands any dirtier, then let Israel off the chain and let them do what needs to be done. You think they will hold off on ending an existential threat to them if we un-cuff their hands? I think not.

The truly scary thing is that any nuclear "deal" which gets made in this atmosphere of complete weakness is going to be an absolutely horrible deal. Something like a deal where Iran says "sure, we agree to never have nuclear weapons, but we're keeping our enriched uranium and won't do anything to dismantle our enrichment factories." We better not have spent tens of billions of dollars and the lives of our servicemen for a deal like that.

My one consolation in all this is Isreal led by Netanyahu. Iran's nuclear program is a question of national survival for them, so I have to assume they will end up taking care of business eventually if we refuse to do so.

Iran's predictable take on events.

The term "panic" implies a lack of resolve and a lack of willingness to see difficult events through to a successful result. I don't think that those of us who are dismayed by this 6th postponement of a promised attack are the ones who are properly described as "panicking."
