It got started when the Iranian negotiators mouthed off to witkoff that they could make 11 ….then we bombed them again and everyone started complaining about a lack of understanding about the cultural differences in negotiation strategies.

Food for thought.
The dollar’s demise is a popular thesis, until the system is tested.
In periods of calm, commentators imagine a gradual shift toward a multipolar currency order. In periods of stress, that narrative collapses. When liquidity tightens and volatility rises, countries do not diversify, they converge.
The current backdrop is instructive. Amid energy shocks and the fallout from Iran, Gulf allies such as the UAE, alongside key Asian economies, are seeking dollar swap lines from the Federal Reserve.
This is not ideological alignment; it is operational necessity.
Equally telling is what is absent. There is no comparable demand for renminbi liquidity, nor any credible alternative backstop.
Reserve currency status is not decided in commentary but in crisis. And in every meaningful test, the same architecture endures: the Federal Reserve as global lender of last resort, and the dollar as the system’s foundation.
Reports of its decline remain premature. Long live King Dollar.

Having a large Navy doesn’t equate to being able to sustain power projection. US Navy is unmatched .

We didn't hear anything in Tehran, but the kids in Pardis were saying they heard explosion sounds and air defense at the same time.
But apparently, they say it was an air defense test.

Multiple reports of explosions heard in Iran with drones seen in the sky. The regime says its air defense system tests.

It was an honor to convene a second roundtable with our close partners from the GCC and Jordan today at the Pentagon. We at the Department of War greatly value our relationship with these critical partners. We had a very useful discussion of the situation in the region and ways to continue strengthening our collective defenses.

I understand and agree with your reply.
I originally meant how miscommunication and conflicting stories occur. Most reporting says materials available to make 11 bombs, not already had 11 bombs made. Inside Wire comes along with a not insignificant report if true they already had 11 nukes.
Somebody, I would assume Live Wire, needs clarification from Hassett, or Live Wire needs a retraction.

The problem we have in the gulf is we need a much bigger navy and naval air presence than we can do with our professional military size. Big lesson learned that controlling contentious waters takes a lot of equipment and personnel.
You know, at a time when we are 40 trillion in debt, spending more on defense than Russia, China, Germany, UK, India, Saudi Arabia, France, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Israel, Ukraine, Poland combined ought to do.
So, no. The taxpayers are tapped out

The media blows my mind with this “fast attack boat” foolishness. We’ve got better fast attack boats on Grand Isle
