The Wall Street Journal reports that President Donald J. Trump is weighing whether to resume major combat operations against Iran following Tuesday's missile attack on U.S. forces, with CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper presenting an option for 10–14 days of intensive airstrikes aimed at crippling Iran's remaining missile capabilities.

According to the Journal, Cooper argues a larger offensive would reduce Iran's ability to launch future attacks and lessen the long-term demand for U.S. air defense interceptors. By contrast, Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine has warned that dwindling interceptor stockpiles increase the risks of a renewed campaign, though they would not prevent one.

It appears we are doing the same thing we have been for the last few weeks; Bombing the same targets again on the coast.

The IRGC is laughing their asses off at us, knowing they can launch a BM or drone swarm from anywhere in Iran and Trump will keep having us bomb the coast, wasting more munitions and money. Until he gets serious about taking on the leadership head-on this crap will never end.

Trump is getting played badly, unfortunately. The real risk now is that unless he decides to resume major combat operations, we will certainly be stuck in a stalemate with the added risk that Iran will now officially control the Strait through fear of attack. Victory will not be achieved by wasting munitions on the same coastal targets.

I don't know where hog went, but thanks for keeping the updates. I check regularly, just don't post as much!

Still believe this only ends in a prolonged civil war, eventually.

Cooper apparently said we'd reached max impact with the coastal strikes. I can't imagine the economic fallout that is occuring that isn't reported. In Iran.

I mean. There has to be something there worth hitting. If the weapon shortage that people have been sky screaming about is real in any way they wouldn't be wasting drops at this point.

Cooper wants to start an intense 2 week or more campaign to remove the rest of the Iran's missiles and severely degrade their ability to do what they have been doing.

Trump wants to bomb some sand on the coast and call it quits before the markets open. Only one of those options is a realistic tactic and way to fighting a conflict...

What a fuggin quagmire. This military strategy has been embarrassing from the get go. We’re too scared of our own shadow because of Iraq/Afghanisfan.

We should pull out and let Iran charge the tolls on ships at this point. Let everyone see how high gas prices will remain when every tanker that passes through that strait gets a charge slapped on it indefinitely. Try to mess with the expansion of Iran’s regional influence and they'll shut the strait down completely and gas will really climb. Maybe an administration will eventually come along and do what needs to be done to Iran. It isn’t happening with this one before the midterms.
