“The Iranians made a MAJOR mistake at the negotiating table.”
After Iran refused to broker a peace deal with the administration, President Trump just announced a full naval blockade on the Strait of Hormuz.
FOX: “I can tell you that regional sources say the Iranians made a major mistake at the negotiating table.”
“They believed the United States would fold and obviously the Trump administration went in with very clear objectives and the Iranians were unwilling to meet the objectives, namely the nuclear program and getting rid of the enriched uranium.”
“Regional sources and sources in the U.S. have been very clear, if you allow Iran to keep the enriched uranium and the facilities that allow them to create enriched uranium, they will continue to try and create a nuclear bomb.”
“And everything would go back to square one.”
“That’s exactly what the president is trying to avoid here.”
“He gave the Iranians a chance at the negotiating table to make a good faith deal and get rid of the enriched uranium and open the Strait of Hormuz…and they’ve been unwilling to do both of those things.”
“And that’s why at this very moment, the region is once again on the brink of military conflict, because Iran is unwilling to make a fair diplomatic deal.”

What’s Trump’s gambit with the Strait of Hormuz?
The blockade means that US assumes naval control of the strait
Afterwards they open it to non-Iranian traffic meaning probably escorted convoys
Remember that the ceasefire is still in effect so Iran can’t do a thing to stop this without inviting renewed US/Israeli strikes
So Trump effectively reopens the strait and freezes the conflict (he can prolong the ceasefire indefinitely), while allowing the regime to collapse economically
Or he dares Iran to break the ceasefire, and has cause to restart hostilities and follow through on past threats of escalation…and this time it would be seen as retaliation
In either scenario, the objective is to impose maximum economic pressure on the regime leading to internal unrest

A U.S. Air Force KC-135R Stratotanker damaged in an Iranian ballistic missile strike on Prince Sultan Air Base has arrived at RAF Mildenhall for repairs.
The aircraft shows visible shrapnel damage across its airframe. During the attack, the U.S. Air Force lost two KC-135Rs, one KC-46A Pegasus, and one E-3G Sentry at the base.

As for the USA, if we want to finish Islamic Iran, it is going to take some tactical ground operations of some kind inside Iran. Air Power alone can't do it.
You're getting pushback on this, but it is pretty much the truth.
We've done the easy part, and if we decide to ramp up the bombing to include vital infrastructure, that too is the easy part. If the regime decides they'll fight to the death we will see how much this endeavor means to the Trump admin. Bombing is easy, we could probably bomb any country we wanted in short enough order. That's not going to secure a country or an enemy that is determined enough to keep fighting.
The hard part is the, "....and then what?".
We will see where it goes.

Democrats will run with this….
But 1st.. Let’s crush this IRGC propaganda right now…
What you’re watching is not “power”…
It’s theater.
Yes… the radio transmission is real.
Yes… IRGC vessels issued threats.
Yes… they warned U.S. destroyers to turn around.
But here’s what democrats don’t want you to understand:
Those U.S. ships didn’t retreat.
They kept moving.
USS Frank E. Peterson (DDG-121)
USS Michael Murphy (DDG-112)
Completed their transit.
Entered the Gulf.
And began mine-clearing operations.
So what is this video?
A bluff.
A staged narrative.
A desperate attempt to project strength after taking losses.
Let’s break it down:
Iran lays mines in an *international* waterway…
Disrupts global trade…
Threatens civilian shipping…
Then records themselves yelling into a radio…
And calls it victory.
That’s not control.
That’s damage control.
Because here’s the reality they can’t hide:
Their naval capability has been hit.
Their fleet degraded.
Their leverage shrinking by the hour.
Meanwhile…
The United States Navy operates anyway. Regardless.
Uninterrupted.
Unchallenged where it matters.
And then comes the real move…
Donald J. Trump escalates to a full naval blockade to reopen the Strait and shut down Iran’s illegal interference.
That’s not talk.
That’s action. That’s The United States of America operating under In God we Trust.
So understand the IRGC playbook:
Threaten loudly
Record it
Edit it
Release it
Claim victory
Even when nothing changed.
Even when U.S. ships are already past you.
Even when you couldn’t stop a single hull.
That’s not dominance…
That’s propaganda for a domestic audience.
The threats are real.
But the “win”?
Completely fabricated.

Sounds like we have ourselves a case of the dueling blockades.
I think the Eagles wrote a song about this.
