They may believe it is the best time they will get to make a push for Taiwan (diplomatically speaking). They likely view us as having our hands full and being overextended, and possibly that our munitions supply is dwindling (for lack of a better word).

They don’t have the technology to stop irans drone and missile game. Iran can really put some pain on them and blow up water plants, oil and gas infrastructure, etc.
