IMHO the correct strategy for the USA now is to establish a tactical ground capability inside Iran that is able to detect and destroy the Islamic radicals, one by one, if necessary.
The Islamics will not surrender, they will not negotiate, they will not voluntarily relinquish power, because, they believe that to do so will send them straight to Hell as traitors to Allah.
So, that's the way it's going to have to happen, IMHO. We've kicked the hornet nest to the ground and now it's either Kill or Be Killed. We either face the reality of the situation or delude ourselves. There IS NO "off-ramp" to a peaceful settlement or anything like that, with this Regime.
