A big part of the 1991 gulf war was the use of a classic battle ship flinging 16 inch shells 20 miles or so against Iraqi positions in and around Kuwait City and the high ridge north across the bay. Those shells weighed as much as a Volkswagen and were targeted to hit a particular apartment building without mid course correction.
I went through the airport about 3 months after the war completion and it was a mess. Iraqi's stole every thing that could be detached. Plumbing leaks every where, and water on the very smooth tile floors was worse than black ice

The Musical "Book of Mormon" has a line in it describing the African village beset with AIDs. It makes the claim that having sex with a virgin will prevent aids, but the problem is they are down to using 5 year old girls as the only available virgins. So Iranians using 6 year old girls for battle may be okey.
