Despite everything that's been said and done, there's a potential future world where the US and Russia are allies. I won't attempt to quantify that, but the concept doesn't seem bizarre to me.

I have long thought this. Russian culture is conservative and traditional, we fought together in WWII. I grew up during the Cold War, but it is a distant memory. It’s a different world. Problem is Trump is nearly 80 and Putin is 73. Trump will be out of “official” power in three years, although I expect he’ll stay in the public eye and will have an influence as an elder statesman. Could be interesting in years to come.

The Assembly of the Arab Tribes of Iranian Khuzestan, a coalition of Arab tribes in southern Iran, has declared that the tribes of Bani Kaab, Bani Tamim, and Bani Lam have pledged their allegiance to the exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi under the principles of a united and secular Iran, free from anti-Arab racism and with greater economic and social justice in their province.

Declaration
Assembly of the Arab Tribes of Iranian Khuzestan

"For Iran, for freedom and equality, solidarity"

("Healthy Iran, healthy Zaadi and Barbari Al-Mabastigi")

We, the assembly, descendants of the Arab tribes of Khuzestan (Bani Kaab, Bani Tamim, Bani Lam, and others), with historical awareness of the present moment and looking upon the pure land of Iran, our homeland, and with the presence and religion of our ancestors, declare... our loyalty and commitment to the side of the pure land of Iran.

A national declaration of the Arabs of Iran.

Khuzestan, this large border province, has for years been under the regime of the Islamic Republic, subjected to severe shortages, discrimination, military siege, oppression, and soft control. We see this as the imposition of crises of siege, oppression, and soft control upon us. Among the people of Khuzestan, we see their heart and soul as Ahvaz, Abadan, and other cities, not as the heart and soul of Tehran.

Our goals and principles:

- National goal: We want the complete overthrow of the current Islamic Republic regime and the establishment of a secular government.

We believe that the rights of the global community and nations should be built on foundations of freedom for all peoples and nations.

- National unity and territorial integrity: With absolute certainty, we emphasize the preservation of Iran’s territorial integrity and unity. We see any call for division or separation of Iranian territory as the enemy’s desire to destroy the security, comfort, and aspirations of the Iranian people. Iran is the shared home of all of us.

- Diversity and cultural identity: We guarantee the preservation of the Arabic language, customs, traditions, and culture of our Arab origin. Within the great Iranian culture, we believe and recognize that in Iran, the rights of all ethnicities and languages must be respected as personal rights, and that national unity should be forged through participation in the great Iranian culture.

- Support for the leadership phase: We do not stand alongside other opposition forces in solidarity at this stage of leadership; instead, we see a broad national alliance under the banner of Reza Pahlavi as an effective way to advance the widespread popular uprising and remove this corrupt regime from the scene. We support and defend this for the sake of overcoming this crisis.

- Social and economic justice: For Khuzestan, the residents of Khuzestan must benefit from their underground resources (oil, etc.) through a national management system and unified constitution and laws so that their children can prosper and progress.

We, all the brothers of the Arab people and Iranian ethnic groups, want in this way to stand hand in hand, stand alongside the engineers of tomorrow’s Iran, stand for the reconstruction of Iran.

Long live free and united Iran

Every day now, Tehran and Iran wake beneath the sound of explosions and fighter jets.

Is it frightening. Yes.
Have we been torn out of the rhythm of ordinary life. Yes.
Is death possible for us, for our families, for the people we love. Yes.

But there is something even more terrifying than all of that: this storm ending, and the terrorist Islamic Regime occupying Iran still standing over our homeland.

That is the part the outside world keeps pretending not to understand. They suddenly discovered concern for Iranian lives now, now that war has reached the sky. But during the Jan uprising, during the great massacre, during the blackout, while innocent Iranians were hunted, tortured, and buried in silence, most of these same voices said nothing. Not one cry for Iran. Not one word for our dead. Not one ounce of rage for our stolen youth.

So spare us the performance. Spare us the counterfeit pity draped in anti war slogans. We remember exactly where your voice was when Iran was bleeding in the dark.

For us, the deepest nightmare is not the sound of war overhead. It is the thought of waking after all this, and finding the occupation still alive.

Former Iranian political prisoner Kian Tajbakhsh drops a truth bomb right to Chris Cuomo’s face.

“For a lot of Iranians, when they hear that President Trump started a war with Iran — no, they see President Trump as FINISHING a war that Iran started 47 years ago.”

CUOMO: “Now, what I want sir is for you give perspective of who we’re dealing with with the regime, they imprisoned you. You know their mentality, you know their value system. You know what they see as winning.”

“Do you believe if America just stops and says, okay, you learned your lesson. Hopefully you’ll be better now. Is that wishful thinking?”

TAJBAKHSH: “Look, my perspective is formed by my experience as the American citizen longest in prison by the Iranian regime.”

“I was arrested and held in the Evin prison controlled by our IRGC for over a year. I was in solitary confinement for over 8 months and I spent many hours discussing with senior and mid-level IRGC officers.”

“The one thing I took away from them and they told me quite straightforwardly, is that we are ready for a fight with the United States.”

“You know, I said you’re picking you’re poking the bear and they said we don’t care. We’re not afraid. We are prepared for this.”

“And this confirmed to me a perspective, Chris, which I think I’d like to share with the viewers, which is that, you know, for a lot of Iranians, for a lot of Iranians when they hear that President Trump started a war with Iran, they might respond — and many of them do — that no, they see President Trump as finishing a war that Iran started 47 years ago.”

“Most Iranians that dislike the regime see this regime for what it really is.”

In a remarkable statement Monday afternoon, Lebanon called for direct talks with Israel on “permanent arrangements for security and stability on our borders,” while accusing the Iranian-backed militant group Hezbollah of betraying the country.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun detailed his plan during a virtual meeting with European Union officials, in which he leveled sharp criticism at Hezbollah and Israel for what he called “an attempt to corner my country.” He accused Israel of showing “no respect for the laws of war, nor for international laws.” Israel’s assault on Lebanon has displaced more than 600,000 people and killed more than 400, including scores of women and children, Aoun said.

But it is his criticism of Hezbollah that is significant. Calling the Shiite Muslim group “an armed faction … that places no value on Lebanon’s interest nor on the life of its people,” Aoun said Hezbollah “wanted to achieve the fall of the State of Lebanon, under aggression and chaos.” He accused the group of working “for the sake of the calculations of the Iranian regime.”

“After Hezbollah’s decision to enter the regional fight around Iran — a decision that put the Lebanese government in deep embarrassment — the main worry of Beirut’s authorities has become to clearly delink themselves from Hezbollah’s actions, mainly in order to spare the entire country the deadly costs of an all-out Israeli reprisal,” said Joseph Bahout, director of the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs at the American University of Beirut.

Aoun called for a new initiative, backed by the international community, which would establish a truce between Israel and Lebanon while helping the Lebanese armed forces disarm Hezbollah and confiscate its weaponry. The initiative would put in a place a “complete truce” with a halt to Israeli attacks as the two countries begin “direct negotiations under international sponsorship” to achieve a “final cessation of hostile acts” and “permanent arrangements for security and stability on our borders.” Under Aoun’s idea, Israel would gradually withdraw from the territories it has occupied in southern Lebanon, with its forces to be replaced by the Lebanese military.

Last week, Lebanon’s government declared Hezbollah’s military activities illegal, but it does not have the force required to effectively disarm Hezbollah on its own. Aoun nevertheless noted the importance of the March 2 decision, saying, “This is what we want to implement clearly and decisively.”

However, Lebanon’s inability to implement this decision makes the new initiative questionable at best.

“The central flaw and limitation of the Lebanese initiative is that, barring any substantial and decisive progress on its pledge to disarm Hezbollah, any negotiations it would embark on would be considered vain and useless,” Bahout said.

It’s not clear if Israel would engage on Aoun’s idea. The Israeli military chief has said Israel will not stop its operations in Lebanon until Hezbollah is disarmed, which appears to leave little room for diplomacy, especially amid intense fighting along the border. Israel has also issued evacuation warnings for much of southern Lebanon, parts of the capital, Beirut, and the Beqaa Valley as it tries to target Hezbollah across the country.

Man, I hope this shite works out for the people of Iran.

Right now it’s just expensive missile practice. So regime change would actually get ROI.

An entire uprising requires arms. Or the army to drop their weapons.

The UAE just put out a strong statement after their consulate in Erbil, Iraq got hit by a drone last night.

They called it an “unprovoked terrorist attack,” confirmed only material damage with no injuries, and slammed it as a straight-up violation of international law (Vienna Convention).
