Very good discussion with former CENTCOM commander. Also, two marines without a box of crayons in sight which may be a first.

A lot simpler to produce explosives in WW2, when an unplanned mfg explosion occasionally was acceptable. Today's safety, hygiene, enviormental, legal, constraints all add cost and time. Not trying to justify either position, just trying to explain the premiss.

With this ship currently docked in Kochi for "engine problems" it is currently within striking range of Diego Garcia if it is carrying Shahed-136 or the Arash-2. It is likely the ship is capable of carrying up to 50 drones.
Dropping that frigate in the Indian Ocean is yielding benefits. Two drone transports out of the fight without a shot.

President Trump, on the other hand, had a different strategy: By any means necessary, don’t allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons.
No, you can’t negotiate with them because their whole currency is lying, and they’re fanatic ideologues. And they have a supernatural view of what’s going to happen, and they’re on the right side of Cosmic Divinity and all of these ideas. I think [former Iranian President Akbar Hashemi] Rafsanjani in a disputed statement, but I think it was accurate, said that Israel was a one bomb state, and that was the advantage that you got half the Jews in the world in one place, where all you needed was one bomb. So you can’t negotiate.
I think their strategy, to tell you, was kind of a Muhammad Ali “Rope-a-Dope” where they were going to ride it out. And then [President Donald] Trump would be gone in three years, and people would be angry, and you’d get a Joe Biden, or better yet a type of puppet of the Left. But better yet, you would get an [Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] or a “squad” member, or a [Gavin] Newsom or [Kamala] Harris, and then you’re home free to get the bomb.

I wonder what is going on between the US and Israel toward a ground force, in particular, one based on arming the protestors. Certainly, they are more than brave enough to strike and make the street very dangerous for the mullah's thugs.
Rifles, explosives, anti-armor weapons along with drones and advisors from Ukraine on building a drone cottage industry would get it done on the ground. Drones in particular allow an urban operator to be unseen while seeing and verifying targets with precision. No hiding in schools and hospitals would be safe.

An Iranian sailor who was killed when the warship Dena was struck by the US near Sri Lanka had called his father shortly beforehand, saying American forces had issued two warnings for the crew to abandon the vessel, a source close to the family told Iran International.
The Iranian navy warship's commander refused to allow the crew to abandon Dena despite the imminent threat, the source added.
The sailor’s father said some crew members argued with the commander, and the 32 crew members who survived were mainly sailors who managed to escape on lifeboats, according to the source.
A US submarine torpedoed Dena in the Indian Ocean on Wednesday, about 19 nautical miles from the southern Sri Lankan port of Galle, killing dozens of sailors and significantly expanding Washington’s campaign against Iran’s naval forces.
The sinking of the Dena — described by US War Secretary Pete Hegseth as a “quiet death” — marked the first time since World War II that the United States had torpedoed an enemy warship.
