Reports of an explosion in Tehran:

According to local reports, the sound of drones were heard before the explosion in the Narrak neighborhood. The Iranian regime claims it was a gas leak, but the extensive damage to the building has led to speculation about a targeted assassination in the heart of the capital.

INTERESTING: Locals are reporting disruptions to TV broadcasts in Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island, and across Iran’s southern coastline.

Interestingly, the same timed GPS/GNSS jamming was recorded on ADS-B interference trackers. (1)

These disruptions were most likely caused by US Electronic Warfare (EW) operations against Iranian coastal radars and targeting systems.

US Treasury Secretary Bessent on Iran:

"I believe that the regime leadership is now hiding the true value of the rial. I think it's through three million, and that's why they've stopped printing the price.

I would predict that from March of 2026 until March of 2027, the economy would contract more than 25%, which is more than the Soviet Union contracted after its collapse."

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Iran:

"The other thing that I would tell the Iranian people is, anything you need for the winter, you should go and get now.

You should start stocking up on heating fuel. There's going to be a big heating fuel shortage.

In terms of gasoline, everyone should fill up their tanks now."

If Netanyahu loses today, I wonder if he will take one more bite of the apple in bombing Iran before he is out of office. I assume there will be some kind of parting shot aimed somewhere from Netanyahu.

The oil price would start to drop if all things were equal but they aren’t.

The cost to move that oil is much higher today than it was in February of this year.
Shipping costs including insurance is over 500%

Consider just one aspect
The cost of a VLCC oil tanker- it was $30,000/ day in February. Today they run @ $1.4 million dollars a day

Then add insurance for war risk which is over 50x higher!

Then there is the expectation that we will resume bombing after the elections….

It looks like he and his party managed to hang on and keep a majority. Next few weeks will be interesting in regards to the Iranian problem:

BIG DEVELOPMENT: US Sends Patriot System To Israel

The US military is sending an additional Patriot air defense system from Texas to Israel to strengthen its missile defenses.

Washington is also moving troops away from vulnerable bases across the Middle East amid preparations for a possible escalation with Iran.

A major US move as tensions rise.

Refined products aren't shipped in supertankers for all those refineries which are mostly bigger than any in Russia.

Arab nations are using their own VLCC's to shuttle crude oil to the Gulf of Oman and are the only ones paying war risk. The oil is then transferred at sea to other tankers who take it to markets.

Refined products are not getting throught Hormuz. Also all of the Iranian bitumen and base oil for motor oil is not getting to UAE to be relabaled as product from UAE. Some of that comes to the US. Several years ago I was offered motor oil custom blended by an Iranian company in a free trade zone on Iranian soil. Technically it would not be from Iran.

Senior Iranian officials received a warning from Washington: time to reach an agreement that prevents another war with the United States and Israel is running out.

The U.S. intends to carry out a military strike. Tehran can avoid it by meeting Washington's demands, which were intensified alongside the warning.

Iran must remove its highly enriched uranium from the country and hand it over to the United States. It must stop all attacks and military operations in the Strait of Hormuz and the entire region. It must open the Strait of Hormuz.

To get crude oil from the oilfields to port or upgraders in Venezuela, they need to import Naphtha (an ingredient used to blend to gasoline for the pump) or at a minimum diesel.

Right now they have to import it while upgraders and refineries are being repaired and not operating at capacity.

A strike, if there is to be one, will occur prior to the mid-terms irrespective the votes. The WH already has a sense of the outcome and will act accordingly - prior to the mud-term results

Bibi's re election was the mid-term....

That is the sense among Persians, per a Persian expat with numerous biz contacts in Iran. They WANT Bibi to win, if not IRGC/Mullah allied
