How many people did a mini-14 kill in Florida last month in a school?
So if a gun doesn't kill kids they you are fine with it being sold?

Nope, try again.

You might want to tell Colt and Ruger that - they would love to go to court to settle who gets to force the other to stop selling.
Here, let me throw you a bone since you are so hung up the differences that don't matter.
- Both the AR-15 and Mini-14 take a detachable box magazine (this means the dreaded 30 round magazine!)
- Both the AR-15 and Mini-14 can use an adjustable stock and a pistol grip.
- Both the AR-15 and Mini-14 shoot the .223 Remington cartridge.
- Both the AR-15 and Mini-14 can utilize picatiny rails to add accessories.
- Both the AR-15 and Mini-14 can attach Flash Hiders, Muzzle Brakes, and Suppressors.
- Both the AR-15 and Mini-14 are Semi-Automatic (and yes that includes Fully Semi-Automatic)
I believe that covers all the liberal nightmares.

What happens when we ban AR-15s?
What do you think happens with mass shooting statistics?

Not your best work.

Again, I don't give a shite about the differences or lack thereof between the weapons and defer to the largest firearms sellers in the country to decide which fit their definition of suitable for sale.
But, you're the one who started this thread by linking a report you don't understand...so it's not surprising that you'd still be confused.

If we -only- ban AR-15s? And change no other law?

Why weren't all the studies you used to "disprove" Lott and co. included in the CDC report, were they not more valuable than Lott and co.?

Sure.
Then a negligible effect, unless we get exceedingly lucky. We know that the best way to lower gun violence rates is to coordinate multiple gun control efforts simultaneously.

And these would be what?
Details please.
We already have you on record for banning AR-15s. What else needs to be done?

Because the CDC report wasn't speaking to the validity or motives of specific researchers, but rather laying out what had already been done regarding various questions and building a set of guideposts for additional, future research once the Dickey amendment is lifted. That John Lott has done work on DGUs is incredibly important - more so when you realize that he faked his data and other studies demonstrate that the true rate is much lower.

Humor me and consolidate them.
1. AR-15 ban.
2. ???

I'm sorry that you don't understand how the word is used.
You used it incorrectly. It's weird to continue to do so after it's been pointed out for you.

I have yet to use that word incorrectly.
I'm not sure why you're still harping on this, since you've been shown a dictionary definition that says you're wrong here.

Since BamaAtl is 100% sure to say "I've already said this elsewhere"
Let me quote what he proposes:
quote:
Repealing the Dickey Amendment to allow for funded studys to better understand the most effective ways to reduce gun violence in the US
Universal background checks - including private sellers, with removal of shall-issue laws for delays
Comprehensive mandatory registration for all new purchases, in a central searchable database
Stricter penalties for straw purchasers
Raise the age for non-hunting rifles to 21, to match handguns
Minimum 3-day waiting period (maybe longer, not sure if there's a good break point data show as better for cooling-off periods)
Passage of Red Flag laws or GVRO's
Ban on certain types of weapons overwhelmingly used in mass casualty events and little else - e.g. AR-15s
Ban on things like bump stocks used to circumvent existing laws limiting power and rate of fire
