It really, really does.

In modern American English, a shibboleth also has a wider meaning, referring to any "in-group" word or phrase that can distinguish members of a group from outsiders – even when not used by a hostile other group. The word is less well recognized in British English. It is also sometimes used in a broader sense to mean jargon, the proper use of which identifies speakers as members of a particular group or subculture.

Exactly how I'm using it.

Would one of the rifles banned from sale have the nickname "AR-15"?

Sure, but guess what. I could still buy AR-15s during the ban. Do you want to know why?

I mean I would expect Mr. Scientist to understand you can't submit an academic paper that's nothing but quotes from other people...

You didn't ask for peer review, you asked for a recitation of easily findable facts.

Your grand rebuttal to ban AR-15's but leave Mini 14's alone is to link 2 articles that claim an AR-15 is better and two that claim the mini 14 is better?

I don't particularly care if we ban the Mini-14 as well as the AR-15. Somehow you inferred that I wanted one banned but not the other.

Your mistake.

It's almost like physical appearance has nothing to do with operational function of the weapon....

Which is why BamaATL can't wrap her head around the difference between an AR-15 and Mini-14.

What I'd like you to do is explain why your claim that it's not over the expected is valid - mainly by illustrating what you believe should be used as the "expected" value.
HELLL YEAAAAHHHh! I love a good mind reader!!! What am I about to eat for my snack? Can you tell me that too?

Because when we use what I've said should be the expected value, clearly we're in an epidemic.
Your opinion of what is NOT what defines an epidemic.

For you to reject that, you must have another expected
Nope. Like I said not the only test.

Do you know why I could still buy an AR-15 during the "Assault Weapons Ban"?

That isn't an answer to my question.

Not my opinion - we're clearly heads and shoulders above what you would expect from a wealthy, stable nation in terms of gun violence.

Excess of expected in population = epidemic.

That's the only test we need to accurately say there's an epidemic of gun violence in this country - and there is.

shite, it was that easy to find and still you don't understand it.

Kind of makes it sadder for you. Now, back to your shibboleths around clip and magazine.
