Reading through the comments on Twitter, everyone claiming that guns are the reason why this keeps happening are actually complicit in the problem. By trying to change the subject, they are actually changing the conversation, especially well-meaning white people, who need to shut the frick up.

If guns were the problem, then why is it that black women shooting people in public barely registers in the data?

The problem is conflict resolution, or lack thereof, and a confrontational interpretation of manhood and what it means to be a man. Way too many black men are taught to be tough and not let anyone "disrespect" them from the time they're in kindergarten. The word "disrespect" has caused so many problems and so many funerals in the black community over the years.

Feeling the need to be a tough guy and lot let anyone disrespect you leads to insecurity. Insecurity leads to embarrassment, and the point of embarrassment is when you're most likely to nut up.At a certain age guns become involved. "Fake arse beef" is how chef described it I believe.

Way too many black men get way too easily offended by what another black man thinks of them or says to them. This isn't tough or hard. If anything, that's woman-like (bitch-arse) behavior and women are the ones who are supposed to spend way too much time stressing and getting upset about what other women think of them. Not dudes.
