But the totality of this situation - our lasting anger - is based on the government creating a virus (I believe it accidentally got out, it was not a planned attack) and using the opportunity to take away bodily autonomy, free speech, free practice of religion, and the right to work and self determination.
The COVID response was the largest attack on our freedom in this countries history.
That is why we take it so personally.
They suppressed our speech.
They denied us access to our parents in assisted living.
They did not allow us to mourn our relatives.
They forced a medical treatment on us.
They prevented us from getting cancer detected earlier.
They shut down small business and left large ones open.
They exponentially expanded poverty and forced a generation of children out of school. That will impact their learning forever.

I had an elderly family member pass in the hospital in 2020. They tested her four times for covid and it was negative each time. When she finally passed they put covid as a cause of death because "she showed all the signs" and the tests "aren't always accurate". BS

Great point. If the NYT is stating 30% over counting, it’s likely closer to 80%.

OP, is NYT saying current or 2022-2023 COVID deaths are overstated by 33%? Or are they talking about 2020-2021?
If 2020 I would say a lot more than 33% were overstated.

The swelling of the lungs and trachea was after they put 'em on Remdesivir & intubation, and right before the RDV killed the kidneys & the vent imploded the lungs.

That’s because it paid more to have a patient admitted and die of Covid. The Medicare reimbursement was higher. So even if someone came in broken up in a car wreck, had the sniffles, and died on the table…. Covid. Because it paid more.
That’s the reason for the overcount. Medicaid fraud perpetrated by the hospitals and nursing homes. That, once they are buried, cannot be disproven.
