But,

- we settle it by getting the Straits open to pre-war status
- regime remains in place
- Iran promises to be nice
- We, and others, pay at least $300B to the regime we went to war with
- the people we were “protecting” are still under threat. That sound like it was worth it all?

Oh and by the way, we have further alienated ourselves from virtually every previous ally on earth.

You left out

- destroyed their nuclear weapons facilities
- wiped out their ballistic missile production
- destroyed their navy that was trying to control the Strait of Hormuz.
- eliminated many of the radical leadership

Iran’s offensive threat has been severely degraded and, most importantly, their nuclear threat eliminated for decades.

Alienated allies? LOL. Who, and at what cost? They aren’t going anywhere. Every one of those weasels were sucking up to Trump in Geneva this week.

If Iran, under the Islamic Republic regime becomes some tolerable nation, willing to do business in good faith and generally supporting peace in the region and the world, if Hezbollah and other terror proxies dry up and whither away, if the Islamic Republic puts its focus on a better life for the Iranian people…..absolutely wonderful.

But there is absolutely zero in the near 50 years of Islamic Republic rule that would give even the slightest indication to such a future.
that part

i was concerned that the Hegseth/Bibi faction would lead us to war with Iran, but when it happened i figured wtf, as long as they are committed to overthrowing the IRGC it will be worth it

but it seems like all we did was kick the can a little further down the road, just like every other significant problem we’ve created for ourselves

this administration started with so much promise, but in the end, Trump 2.0 is no better than Bush 2.0

Yeah, in 2025 which was months before this dust-up

No we didn't

Big ole navy of less than a dozen ships

The one eliminated was not pursuing nuclear weapons though

It never was an offensive army though. Their doctrine is defensive.

No we didn't. They are the world's 16th producer in Uranium ore. We gave them the tech to enrich back in the 60's and 70's. Doing it again is easy if they wish to.

All of our longstanding allies knew this was a farce and is why none stood with us and most wouldn't allow us to use airspace.

No. The following were severely damaged or destroyed During Epic Fury

Natanz Nuclear Facility: The heavily damaged main uranium enrichment site, which suffered "extremely severe damage" from penetrator bombs.
Fordow Uranium Enrichment Plant: The underground enrichment site buried near Tehran, which sustained major damage.
Isfahan Nuclear Technology Center: The site was also struck, experiencing severe structural damage.

No we didn't

We eliminated these facilities

Karaj Surface-to-Surface Missile Plant: U.S. forces struck this vital assembly and production site in early March.
Khorramabad Missile Base: One of the primary ballistic missile bases targeted during the air campaign
Konarak Air Base: Struck and heavily damaged, degrading regional strike and defense postures.
Underground Production & Storage Sites: Broad strikes were launched against deep, hardened ballistic missile production and storage facilities in and around Tehran, Shiraz, and Ahvaz.
General IRGC Facilities: Numerous Aerospace Force command and control centers, intelligence outposts, and launch sites were systematically dismantled across Iran

More than one

Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani: Secretary of the Iranian Defence Council.Major General Mohammad Pakpour: Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

They were attacking ships in the Strait, funding terrorists groups and attacks, and trying to put nukes on ballistic missiles.

See above, we took out their facilities.

This has been standard operating practice for our “allies” for decades.
