Pretty explosive.

1) Nunes said he was invited Friday to go to DoJ for more meetings. He and Gowdy asked if they were going to get documents and were told no. He and Gowdy refused the meeting. That night is when the NYT/WaPo ran their stories about the informant. Nunes' theory is they wanted to get he and Gowdy at the meeting to BLAME THEM for leaking.

2) Nunes claims he never requested any documents about informants or names of informants. The fact there were informants is news to him. He only learned about it through NYT. He said if the DoJ would give him documents, maybe he could confirm it. But he says his request never asked about informants.

3) Nunes said he still cannot confirm if the informant story is true, but he said IF it's true, it's a red line and Congress should take action.

I think what's happening is DoJ knows they will HAVE to give Nunes the docs at some point and they know the docs he is asking for will talk about informants (even if Nunes didn't know about any informants). So they are trying to get out in front of it by leaking the news of informants before Republicans get the documents. As Evelyn Farkas would say "that's why you have all the leaking."

Also, so I dont get downvoted, pics of Maria:

The only reason I read your post was because you mentioned Maria in the title.

This is crazy. Think about it. Members of Congress now are wondering if the IC is trying to frame them as leakers. It appears that the Dems were possibly in on it given the number of Dems who commented recently that Rs had crossed a line by leaking info on the spy!

Interesting, then what was the topic of his TS letter? Everyone just assumed it was regarding the spy.

Love the USA but getting to the point where I despise the people in our government.

You can well believe that if either of them had gone to that meeting the narrative would have been at least that "someone on their staff" leaked the information in an attempt to detract from the Trump-Russia investigation.

Remind me...The DoJ is part of what branch of govt? It is headed by who who works directly at the pleasure of who?

How is “the DoJ won’t give us what we ask for” even a thing. Say no, get fired. Why isn’t it that simple?

Trump is lying in the weeds on this. He could fire everyone involved from sessions on down to mueller. There’s a reason he’s not. He’s still letting the line out

This is my theory too. If it proves true, it will be glorious.

This is why they tried to take Nunes out early on. He bided his time while being investigated and once cleared he came out of the corner punching. I hope he is doing all of this on the up and up and isn't going to give us a huge rope-a-dope. You really don't know who to trust at this point.

Our government has become beyond scary.

I would not doubt this for a minute.

This is probably the most disconcerting thing to me about all of this and it continues to be proven over and over and over again on a daily basis.

The far left, big tech, our intelligence and justice communities, our education system and the MSM are all in cahoots with one another to control this country and completely dismantle and destroy their opposition (Constitutional Conservatives).

I honestly fear that this country is in far far more serious danger than most realize.

I just pray to God that military intelligence truly has Trump's back on this one, and that they are working to ensnare the whole lot of these seditious bastards.

No....I fear this is not the case. Instead I think he's playing the victim in order to do as much as he can for the midterms and secure votes for 2020.

No.

But at this point, Trump obviously feels he has the political capital to finally force the issue.

Clearly his tactic is working on you.

For a guy that claims to be and always has been such an alpha...he's being the beta quite a bit here. He has the power and the ability to walk over to the DOJ, summon Sessions, Wray, and others and say "Let's see these documents and your concerns...you over there, hit send and give Congress these docs.....oh, you're worried about classification? Now they aren't classified. Hit send....oh you're worried about ongoing investigations? The law and the courts and the Constitution says that isn't a strong enough reason. Hit send. Oh you don't want to? You're fired. Who's next."

And yet for some reason Trump has done nothing like this at all, yet this is exactly how we envision him taking care of business and it's exactly why we voted for him.
