Have not heard much about this organization and wonder how many here contributed. Appears they might be in trouble.

Judge Dismisses NRA Bankruptcy Case, Heightening Risk For Dissolution Of Group

quote:

A federal bankruptcy judge dismissed an effort by the National Rifle Association to declare bankruptcy on Tuesday, ruling that the gun rights group had not filed the case in good faith. The ruling slams the door on the NRA's attempt to use bankruptcy laws to evade New York officials seeking to dissolve the organization. In his decision, the federal judge said that "using this bankruptcy case to address a regulatory enforcement problem" was not a permitted use of bankruptcy. The bankruptcy trial had paused other legal challenges the NRA had been facing, but this decision returns the group to its confrontation with the New York attorney general, who is seeking to shut it down over alleged "fraud and abuse."

NRA has itself to blame with their corrupt leadership. I’m a member, but pissed at their management...

Not sure why the downvote for posting news but, whatever. Sort of like Salvation Army and most other places that accept money from others.

The people that get the money want to spend it on themselves. Greed is a strong drug in this "me" generation.

Ask many, many preachers...

Because the NRA only looked after the NRA is why. Many of us pulled (or cancelled) our memberships 2-3 years ago.

Democrats have to get rid of the NRA. Hopefully they survive. They are one of the best influencers and get out the vote organizations on the right. That's why the Democrats hate the NRA.

Was a member for about 5 years: they seemed more like a pyramid scheme. always hawking something and asking for more money.

NRA can get fricked. They deserve everything coming at them for their corruption. There are better orgs out there.

Perhaps this will lead to NRA with some fresh blood at the helm or spawn a new organization. I haven't been a member for several years as they were not exactly inspiring.

Same time I cancelled my membership in the Republican party. The entire system is broken and waging war on taxpayers.

#metoo. I usually renewed in 5 year blocks. My membership renewal should be coming up soon and I don't plan on renewing.

I'll join GOA.

Well. From a financial standpoint, this means they have too much money to file bankruptcy.

The NRA is the oldest civil rights organization in the U.S.

If the state of New York is going to set the precedent of attacking civil rights organizations via lawfare, then I have a list too.

How about the SPLC for starters?
