Less bombing, back to naval blockade, economic sanctions, quadruple investment and construction of pipelines away from the Strait.

Attrit the IRGC until the three armed uprising groups can finish them off.

This is the answer, but unfortunately being as indiscriminate as we were might have further secured their position.

I don’t see it.

They are carved up by mountains, they have VERY limited access to the Caspian, there are TWO major deserts that are incredibly arid, and on the other Maude of the mountains lies ethic groups that have been persecuted and want to break away.

How do you go bankrupt, one day at a time…and then: SUDDENLY.

Iran is (late?) in the one day at a time phase of becoming a failed state (bankrupt per my analogy).

Time will tell, but that is my guess as to how it will play out.

Let the military do its job

I'm still not clear on what job the military waa told to do.

Tactically, they destroyed 15,000 targets. Great job.

Strategically, what did they accomplish?

Ask the down voters, they seem to know something, they're holding back on the grand plan.

You blew it right there by believing the bullshite Iran state media & lots of our media puts out.

How anybody with a semi functioning mind thinks this is an accurate statement is beyond me.

When your entire country is a bomb sponge, you are not winning the war.

That's a BIG OLE LEAP you are making there based on a moving scale that doesn't calculate well for "Trump". I would prefer he nuke these people into glass till they surrender or die. I have skin in this game though.

Quasi siege.

Iran has MAJOR issues internally that pre-existed this conflict.

Mother Nature, and a desperate (and divided) population are going to be VERY tough for them to manage going forward.

So you're saying the US should send in a substantial ground force?

Yeah. This seems like it will end with Iran controlling the strait and who knows what else. Very unlikely to get rid of the nuclear threat. At this point, the best we can hope for is Trump getting out of this asap without destroying the world economy (his explicit rationale for the original MOU surrender).

It has been a colossal waste and will by almost every measure have been a failure of enormous proportions.

This Trump term could have been one of a booming economy as the COVID recovery accelerated. Instead he’s blown it with tariffs, outrageous spending, reckless diplomacy alienating our trading partners and allies, and capping it off with a pointless war that leaves everything worse off. Best we can hope for is that it won’t be a complete economic crash.

I mean, in the outer provinces (separated by mountains and / or deserts), they may have.

As for the core of the population, water has been a worsening challenge over time for the regime. Impacting the power grid is a more recent development.

It has been a 1000 cuts campaign in that regard.

Again…time will tell.

I think if the American people could weather some tough economic conditions for a couple of years we could take the Islamic Regime out through economic and financial warfare.

It's what the Islamic Regime believes and they will believe that until they are removed from power.

Not at all.

Why would you do that when Mother Nature, ethnic divisions, and a miserable population (apathy) are fighting the regime for you.
