We literally had a thread on this last night.
This thread isn't about the donation. It's about the fact that if his own family is sfill butt hurt over Rispones attack ads imagine how the other religious so called Republicans in this State are going to vote! Or sit out... Same thing.... I was confident Eddie would win by 2 to 3 points.... But now it truly is up for grabs...

Abraham was a horrible candidate and campaigner.
You literally have this backwards. Abraham was a great campaigner but lacked sufficient funds.
If Rispone loses it will be entirely based on his failure to hire a competent campaign staff. He relied on some very young completely incompetent, inexperienced staffers.
Winners don't make excuses. I already voted for Rispone. A few of the folks in this thread can't even vote because they don't even live in Louisiana. I know it's an opinion board but there are plenty of people lurking here who know very little about how things really work in the real world.
In the real world you don't run excoriating, personal ads that are literal lies then turn around and beg for the endorsement of them man who you personally spent millions to smear. Eddie did that. And because Abraham is a real man he worked to finish the job against JBE because he knows our state deserves a better shot than a liberal like JBE masquerading as a conservative.
Anyone who thinks Abraham is a RINO is an amateur at real-world politics--especially Louisiana politics.
Good luck to Rispone. I think he wins a nailbiter. But the Rispone folks who want to think they're cute by throwing it in the face of Abraham supporters are the real losers here.

If that is true, then it’s a damn good thing y’all voted for Eddie in the primary than some cucked Bush family wannabe.

He was awful and his awful debate performances are why he didn't make the runoff.

Nah...nice try little fella. It's okay that you're wrong. The reason JBE didn't win outright in the primary is because the JBE sexual harassment accuser ads rained down like angel investors nine days before the primary vote.
This race is about taking out the incumbent. This race is about leaders finding ways to compel, motivate, and encourage real life people to vote. That takes more than tv ads. It takes physical interaction and retail politics.
Abraham recognized that, and after campaigning hard but coming up short he did something borderline unprecedented in being the first to endorse Rispone and then did it again publicly a few more times. That's leadership. Read about it in a book if you're too young to have to seen leadership yet in person.
But by all means...keep insulting conservatives and then act shocked if they don't back Rispone en masse. Yours is not a winning strategy. I'm starting to think you might actually be one of Rispone's horrible out-of-state advisors.

The only people who think Abraham didn't do awful in the debates are people paid by his campaign.

If Rispone loses it's all on him and those who voted for him in the primary. This was the most winnable gov election in my lifetime (except maybe the David Duke run).
Rispone stepped up when no one with backing would. Without Rispone Edwards would be elected already.

Yeah, I'll give you that no one in our federal delegation and the statehouse was willing to take on JBE just reeks of cowardice and political opportunism or lack thereof and a complete aversion to taking one for the team.
John Kennedy's "Happy with Crappy" line just made me scream in frustration. Kennedy would be running away with this against JBE.

Maybe, but Rispone has more resources and money than Abraham ever had and he still has not run a good campaign in the runoff.
I hope he wins and JBE gets sent back to Amite where he belongs.

Sure man...I mean...by all means stay fixated trashing Abraham if it makes you feel more important on the internet.
Abraham nor Rispone had to run for governor. They both did it out of sense of duty to defeat the incumbent, who never should've been elected in the first place. Nobody else with more political experience had the spine to get in the ring.
Louisiana elections aren't won by debate performances that are viewed by a few thousand people. They also aren't won by running tv ads with zero grassroots support. Abraham had a very strong grassroots game but limited tv exposure; Rispone ran a tv campaign but had limited grassroots exposure.
If you're conservative then you'll open your eyes and find ways to get Rispone elected tomorrow. It's exactly what I'm doing in real life; I'm not paid by a campaign and haven't been paid by a campaign in a very, very long time.

It'll just be the end of Louisiana.
Both houses of the Louisiana legislature will have Republican super majorities. That’s never been done in my lifetime.
JBE, if he’s re-elected, won’t even be able to have his vetos sustained.
I wouldn’t expect a New York carpetbagger to understand that.

Thank God he tried.
He put his own money up and win or lose he sacrificed more for our state than any of the others.
Think about it. None of the others even tried.

Agreed.
I thank Eddie Rispone for stepping up and he's a patriot and great man Louisiana should be proud to call one of its own.
But however imo, Rispone was not well served with the carpetbagger consultants that had him running a campaign so terrible that he was forced to go negative against Abraham just to squeak into the runoff and then has to clean that up in North Louisiana along with running a mediocre campaign in the runoff.
If Rispone wins, it will be due to Trump turning out the voters, polarization amongst whites and blacks and the fact that JBE has too much baggage and a terrible record as the incumbent to win.
And it's disappointing as I wanted to see JBE get his arse hammered.

This sounds more like the Kentucky and Kansas situations where Republicans ran weak candidates at the top but stronger local candidates.
Anyone thinks Louisiana should adopt a rule for Governor like Mississippi where not only do you have to win the vote, but you also have to win enough state House districts otherwise the House selects the Governor.
