You will care. Antifa will declare when that should occur. If you are not offended by the name, they will be offended for you.

It’s because of this pc crap that they absolutely should retain that moniker . Fight the absurdity like only the fighting Irish could

In short, Morrison argues that, in spite of many people embracing the Fighting Irish moniker, it’s rooted in negative stereotypes of Catholics and immigrants

Is Morrison aware that Notre Dame is an Irish Catholic institution?

I thought the Irish were proud of fighting and drinking?

I’ve yet to see another group of people that can take that much of the creature.

And yeah I’m Irish.

Too lazy to look it up, but I remember a similar story a couple years ago. As a lark, a white college student claimed Lucky Charms were racist and got them removed from the cafeteria
They couldn’t say “no”.

We've already been through this rigmarole, and the university and alumni were adamantly in favor of keeping the nickname.

Hahaha. You think that matters to cancel culture?

Irish people once were looked at in the U.S. with the same prejudice that other minority groups are today.

And they worked hard and they sent their kids to school and a few generations later they saw the drunken leprechaun as a fun reminder of who they were and what they had overcome.
