Private sector could do everything better or as well as the TSA, for less money.

And isn’t the TSA unionized?

The Federal government has its tentacles everywhere. I’m convinced most Americans want more government either through being trained to think that way or needing a paycheck provided by private sector taxpayers.

I am discouraged.

You're a tiny minority then. The average American would cede all of his or her freedom to the government if they thought the nanny state would save them from the big bad terrorist.

If rather watch 100 planes go down per day than have a TSA

I don't know man, I know a lot of people.

Including a guy that works for the TSA that doesn't think it's necessary.

Heck, the media and Libs would rather watch America burn than give Trump any credit.

Less than 20 years old. Democrats defending an agency created by GW Bush. Trump has turned them inside out.

The reopening was more about air traffic controllers not some chucklehead telling me to take off my shoes.

The problem TSA or a private security company faces is that they can’t profile and hurt someone’s feelings. Screeners should be an elite organization that is free to pull passengers out of line at any time. Cut staffing numbers, but pay them more.

With metal detectors, scanners and the like, there is virtually no need to randomly pull anyone. Sure, maybe you’d get random non-metal blades/etc through, but with the cockpit doors being secured, who cares.

TSA is the devil.

Doesn't prevent anything just a hassle and pain in the arse.

We don't need security. Hell you fly anywhere else like South America and they don't even have metal detectors.

If your plane goes down it's because the maintenance crew or pilot suck arse and forgot to tighten some screw.

Jesus fricking christ, someone used this argument the other day... Nothing of how 9/11 occurred had anything to do with the screening process, it had to do with the non-reinforced cockpit doors.

They got box cutters through security... That is a huge nothing burger. A ball point pin could be as dangerous as a box cutter in the right hands.

The TSA currently misses 90+% of weapons that are tested during audits.

The attackers sat in 1st class. They were rushed through security because that was how they handled premium customers. You have no clue what your are talking about.

Again, box cutters... the same shirt could have been done with a ballpoint pen or any other pointy object.

The cause of 9/11 was their ability to get in the cockpit bc the doors weren’t reinforced.

And of course you avoid the fact that 90% of contraband tested through TSA passes right along. The illusion of security.
