No, the dems are rejoicing. The republicans are at each other’s throats behind closed doors in their caucus.

Are you retarded? Johnson is exactly the kind of guy the Dems didn't want as Speaker. They are fricked

Do you have evidence to the contrary?

There is still a sizable group in the House angry that Gaetz voted with Democrats to oust the Speaker. They think Gaetz should have worked exclusively with Republicans to oust a Republican Speaker.

There's also a lot of vitriol within the party right now. People trying to physically assault fellow members of congress.

Even on this board there's too many emotional people. People unwilling to have reasonable, rational discussions. Just earlier one of them said

quote:

The vote assh*t

That doesn't suggest unity to me.

I present evidence of a divide within the party, something you asked for, and this is your response?

Some of you are way too emotionally invested in a group of people that are 100% going to frick you over.

I see where your coming from but who would have been a "win"? The GOP has such a slim majority it's almost impossible to plow through an unadulterated MAGA or conservative agenda. But at least with Johnson we have a gut that will give it his all.

And Kevin McCarthy eventually got 219 votes I believe.

Yeah, after he told a few big lies to get them, then thought he could just go back to being a dem-lite RINO and ignore his promises.
It came back to bite him in the arse. He is a POS and always has been.
Good riddance.

You act as if everything is all unified among the Dems. Plenty of infighting there right now too, exacerbated by the Israel / Palestine issue. Huge divisions among them that of course are being ignored by the media… while they try and tell us how divided and dysfunctional Republicans are.

The Dems literally nominated him as speaker through all of this more than once.

Oh please… “why would you think a DeSanfis supporter wouldn’t want… Because Gaetz, Johnson etc are MAGA AF… and 99% of Ronbots spend 99% of their day REEEEEing about Trump and MAGA voters. There are several Ronbot posters here who have constantly defended GOPe pussies in Congress.

Probably not. Their plan b isn't that bad. Those "allies" are still there. And, the margin is small.

Of course they nominated Jeffries. The minority party always nominates someone and gives him or her their votes. I think there was only once in modern history where someone voted for the other party. He was not a deciding vote or anything.

They knew they would never get Republican votes for Jeffries. They knew Jeffries would never be speaker in this Congress. The idea that they voted out McCarthy to get Jeffries is completely divorced from reality.
