Agreed and I think the cuts are targeting the hiring bloat over the past few years and the internal high dollar budgets supporting them without any benefit to the taxpayer.

So safe to say that all the traffic controllers work at the airports, not working at home?
There’s other ATC facilities that may or may not be at airports called Air Route Air Traffic Control Centers ( ARTCC’s). They mostly work the traffic once the aircraft leave an ATC facility in a city/metro area with an Approach Control. There are 22 of them (I think) , across the US and Puerto Rico.
But yes, as far as I know, no controllers are working traffic from home.

Most government jobs are NOT like yours was - or is. Most work 8-5 jobs in shitty building, on the crap side of town.
And, it’s not just the bureaucracy, it’s just how stagnant it is - with little to no incentive to improve. They demand a degree but start pay at 38k/year with minimum wage increases, and no say in policy. We get a crushingly stagnant workforce who accomplish little.
I worked in a government office (as an outside contractor) for 5 years at one point. It was staggeringly sad to witness. No enjoyment in what they did, no willingness to do more to accomplish goals (heck no goals at all).
I’ve always thought if they cut the workforce and pay much better from the bottom up, you can get more efficient and effective leaders (across the board) who care about where the money goes, who can cut through regulations, and do good for the country.

Who said that all gov jobs are BS?
I have not seen that anywhere. What i have seen is the misuse of tax funds. And that's on those who have been in charge. And right now, we have to right our ship

Not what you said, but it kills me when folks that work 9-5 say they work 40 hrs a week.
Unless you aren't taking a lunch you aren't working 40 hrs a week working 9-5.
The civil service folks I worked with were always on smoke break, coffee break, extended lunch break, running a few errands break, etc.
The ones with the best work ethic were prior military.

I believe 90% of maga understands you.
But we want the good ones already in there and the good ones that were improperly asked to leave from before.
I know federal workers do work just like privates work.
But the tenured vacay jobs with pay are over. And these hunnys are going to have a hard time getting a private sector job.
First question they will be asked is:
“What did you do in a particular week at your job?”
Does that sound familiar? Because hiring managers want to know.

No one is saying all gov jobs are bullshite. They’re saying there’s a significant amount of jobs in gov that are either redundant, unnecessary, or filled by people who hardly work.
Maximizing efficiency should be the goal of any organization.. private or public.

Air traffic controller is a legit job but shouldn't be a fed job.

Not all are BS, but some are, and they need to be done away with. Also, my experience with the federal government leaves me convinced that most every agency is grossly overstaffed and bloated - whether there mission is or is not BS. My main experiences are : law enforcement and civilian base employment. So, I can’t speak for every agency, but I strongly believe I would find it this way inside most every agency.

I’m a retired United States Probation Officer. I supervised Sex Offenders and mentally ill people. I even had a case who attempted to kill a President. It was dangerous and extremely challenging work. We had extremely high expectation where we were expected to handle cases in open court just like an attorney would do. I was the firearms instructor for my division which added a tremendous amount of stress and liability to my duties. I earned my pay and benefits.
I totally agree that the Washington DC federal workers have been fleecing us for a long time. The folks who work in the field were for the most part not like them. I don’t pity the DC people one bit. It’s ridiculous what they’ve gotten away with.

I agree with you, which is why department cuts should be targeted.

How about do the work and find the ones who are a drag and get rid of them and only replace as needed?
Seems to me that's what PDJT and Elon are doing right now.
