Norah O’Donnell to Exit as ‘CBS Evening News’ Anchor to Become Senior Correspondent
quote:
Norah O’Donnell will cede the reins of the venerable “CBS Evening News” after the 2024 presidential election in favor of a new role as a senior correspondent who will seek out big interviews and opportunities for deeper reporting, the latest major change at CBS News after its business was merged with that of the local-TV operations of parent company Paramount Global.
O’Donnell, who recently celebrated her fifth year in the anchor chair, sees an opportunity to pursue signature interviews with top newsmakers — something that proved appealing to her after her recent sit-down with Pope Francis earlier this year.
“Together, our team has won Emmy, Murrow, and DuPont awards. We managed to anchor in-studio through COVID; we took the broadcast on the road from aircraft carriers to the Middle East, and around the world. We were privileged to conduct a historic interview with Pope Francis,” O’Donnell said in a note sent to staffers Tuesday. “There’s so much work to be proud of! But I have spent 12 years in the anchor chair here at CBS News, tied to a daily broadcast and the rigors of a relentless news cycle. It’s time to do something different. This presidential election will be my seventh as a journalist, and for many of us in this business we tend to look at our careers in terms of these milestone events.”
O’Donnell will continue to anchor all of CBS News’ major coverage leading up to the 2024 Election including the Democratic National Convention, Election Night, and more. In her new role, O’Donnell will continue to contribute to “Evening News,” “60 Minutes” and other CBS News programs. The new arrangement is understood to be part of a longer-term commitment that the anchor and CBS News are making to one another.
Fixed another shitty thread. You people need to do better.

She towed the democrat party line like a champ. Good riddance.

She needs to be spanked back to sanity.

She was pretty hot when she was younger. I saw her on CSPAN when she was about 25, working for some small magazine. I said to myself she's too good looking for print, she's headed for TV.
But then...

But then...

Her journalistic integrity and credibility retired many, many years ago.

Yep to a point, but I’d go balls deep to turn her.

Bc right now on CBS news she’s actively campaigning for Harris. Smiling the whole time.

She's the textbook person Malcolm X was referring to when he made the comment about white liberals....
"The white conservatives aren't friends of the Negro either, but they at least don't try to hide it. They are like wolves; they show their teeth in a snarl that keeps the Negro always aware of where he stands with them. But the white liberals are foxes, who also show their teeth to the Negro but pretend that they are smiling. The white liberals are more dangerous than the conservatives; they lure the Negro, and as the Negro runs from the growling wolf, he flees into the open jaws of the "smiling" fox."

She was terrible, watching her you had to take Prozac to keep yourself from getting depressed...
Watching her asking John McEnroe if he wanted to apologize for not saying Serena Wiliams was the best tennis player in the world was her schtick, and showed her true colors. Mac didn't fall for her trap.

At her peak with CBS she was paid $8M per year to read the news and ask questions supportive of the leftist agenda.

Dan Rather replaced Walter Cronkite when CBS News was the king. By end of Rather’s run, CBS was buried in the ratings and surrounded by controversy. They have never recovered.
