Link to where I said they were fair.
You are incapable of honest debate. First we have to start with my question which leads us to the fact that behavior psychologists aren't scientists. They deal in the unproven. But You knew that.

You might want to back out of this thread...you're getting owned.

i can show you a bunch of studies that argue for traits of alpha males being advantageous, especially in the realm of sexual desire/status
Please go ahead and show me some peer-reviewed research

I don't know where I missed that but I definitely did read the articles. Can you show me where the idea of an alpha male in human beings is accepted by any scientific community or psychological community.

Confidence and status are very attractive traits, Buunk, Dijkstra, Fetchenhauer, & Kenrick, 2002
Physical strength is a significant variable in sexual attractiveness
Humor reveals intelligence and predicts mating success

your basic "alpha male" is confident, fit, of high status, and funny/entertaining.
quote:
Consistent with an evolutionary perspective, men preferred mates who were higher in physical attractiveness than themselves, whereas women preferred mates who were higher in income, education, self–confidence, intelligence, dominance, and social position than themselves.
Physical strength is a significant variable in sexual attractiveness
quote:
Three sets of photographs of men's bodies were shown to raters who estimated either their physical strength or their attractiveness. Estimates of physical strength determined over 70% of men's bodily attractiveness. Additional analyses showed that tallness and leanness were also favoured, and, along with estimates of physical strength, accounted for 80% of men's bodily attractiveness. Contrary to popular theories of men's physical attractiveness, there was no evidence of a nonlinear effect; the strongest men were the most attractive in all samples.
Humor reveals intelligence and predicts mating success
quote:
Structural equation models showed that general and verbal intelligence both predict humor production ability, which in turn predicts mating success, such as lifetime number of sexual partners. Also, males showed higher average humor production ability. These results suggest that the human sense of humor evolved at least partly through sexual selection as an intelligence-indicator.

i just posted articles showing the power of adopting "alpha male" traits, especially in sexual selection
there was an overlap in this data and the data in your links (as i quoted), but you failed to respond to above

I've never seen sense of humor tied into this equation, but I like that.
Maybe because I don't have a whole lot else going for me.

It's pretty ignorant to just assume that one person would be best to lead in every situation even when they weren't inclined to help in that particular situation. Different skill sets and variety are what makes humans so efficient at solving problems.
Did you know that people in India solve problems in groups?
You have absolutely zero understanding of leadership.

is no surprise that a standard Google of various Alpha Male searches brings up tons of recent stuff decrying the concept because, well, today's Betas like you REALLY want to eat that shite up.
Well I know I would certainly trust your qualified opinion

You shouldn't
You should make an aren't to replicate what I searched
But you don't actually want to learn.
You got told what you wanted to hear. You weren't looking for information. You were looking for reassurance

I was just trying to show you guys there is no inherent alpha male and human beings like there isn't other animals in the animal kingdom. I enjoy shattering paradigms. I'm sorry you heard something you didn't want to hear and this is your reaction

Ebb, apparently, thinks "alpha male" means pack leader like a wolf exclusively or something

Classic liberal.
Don't like something? Redefine it to mean what you want it to mean and argue against that.
