No one else thinks the border is being used as a campaign stunt?

They’re weeks away.
We already have armed military and national guard at the border.
Do we honestly think there are terrorists in the Middle East that decided to walk to the U.S through Honduras and Central America?
Why haven’t other (larger) caravans that werent coming near Election Day been talked about at length like this one has?
Is anyone else on this board asking these questions?
ETA: Trump hasn’t even visited the troops in Afghanistan. If I was in the military being sent to the border and told to commit the war crime of killing someone with a rock in their hand because the president says rocks are to be treated “like rifles,” I’m not sure I’d be too happy about being used for political gain like this.

It’s the daily fake outrage. It’s how the right wing operates. They want gullible people to think they are being attacked so those people will overlook or ignore the daily corruption and abuse by the governing party.

I never asked why we care now. I asked if it ever crossed anyone else’s mind that this is just a political stunt.

Anybody with a lick of sense would know that this is a political stunt meaning that of course no one on this board does. It's easy to see that it's a political stunt because all of the ads I've seen in Texas have been about how Democrats want open borders. Of course that's a lie and of course Trump sending out the National Guard to meet this Caravan makes it look like Republicans tough Democrats want people walking across border. The most idiotic thing I've ever seen which means it's definitely a Republican

What if I said these people are only coming to apply for asylum (which is their right) and most will be rejected anyway, like how it usually works with these caravans. Does that change anything?

but it backfired, so the media is ignoring it or trying to make it look like conservatives are evil racists over this - using the tried and true playbook
