it said beards are an area of focus, but i'm telling you, that that's what this memo is. they are making the policy regarding medical waivers extremely strict, which will result in most of these beards just going away.

I had never hears of some stupid shite like that or shaving bumps until I was in the Army.
Thankfully I was combat arms and we never had shaving profile soldiers in tank units. Mainly because blacks rarely choose combat arms.

Do tattoos make it extremely difficult to get a seal on a gas or oxygen mask? Can tattoos be a hygiene problem?

because you don't know anything about how the military works, i'll explain it to you.
onboard a ship, everyone should be clean shaven because you are expected to be ready to put on an SCBA at any point to fight a fire.
proper mask fit whether it's scba or chem mask means something.
another issue is having uniformity within units. but again, you don't understand how the military works.

I saw an air force dude in Publix yesterday. He bad a beard but his head was shaved. Weird look.

that's the issue. black guys in the military get special treatment and are able to acquire no shave chits pretty easily. white guys aren't afforded this same treatment. it's a morale issue.
