CBS had a similar show to The View called The Talk when they canceled As the World Turns. It was at a later time slot at 1 pm central. That pissed off a bunch of ole ladies who lost their soap for more than 54 years.
Sara Gilbert was the host and Sharon Osbourne was one of the panelists. They canceled it in 2024 to make room for a new black themed soap called Beyond the Gates.
They did try to stray away from politics, but as with anything politics would sometimes come up. Sharon Osbourne was one of those casualties.

So, a new show just like The View, same time slot on a different network, would smash The View very quickly.
