I agree 100%. But that doesnt appear to be their thinking. Again these are people who are used to rolling over and taking the high road (at least what I’ve seen during the years I’ve paid attention). IMO they thought it was the right thing to do at the time.

1. Kavanaugh is an immensely qualified nominee, whether you agree with his judicial philosophy or not. He has the experience that you want to see in someone who may ascend to the Supreme Court.
2. Nothing has proven that Brett Kavanaugh did any of the things he’s been accused of.
3. There is not enough time to get a new nominee confirmed before the midterms. If we pull him now, then our hopes of a conservative Court will hinge on holding the Senate.
4. We should not give into something that, until proven otherwise, seems to be a massive political stunt by the Democrats.

ETA: Are you sure you know what you're talking about? Are you sure the FBI does "TS/SCI" investigations (whatever those are)?
And, do you know that for a middle aged person, a TS/SCI (which is a clearance, not an investigation) can require 18 to 24 months or even longer? I'm sure you did, so that means 2020 before anyone is ready.
