Faith to move mountains and split the seas doesn’t avail one if you’re not working in God’s will

Where was the part where God told him to it

"Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground."

I am a minister and I got a laugh out of this. This is up there with snake handling. Things like this are simply stunts to try and increase the influence of whomever does it. It's stupid and a sideshow and does nothing to fulfill the Great Commission.

This is a Christian minister?

Im not a biblical scholar, I'm not a minister, but I don't think God would have a minister part a body of water in front of a camera for funsies. If anything, God would have the minister do something to submit to him, and it wouldn't be in front of a camera. I truly think that God performs what we would call miracles on a daily basis at least, and we will never ever learn of a fraction of them except by word of mouth. Something you have to have faith in to believe. Not video evidence for the world to see.

Black people love seafood because it seems like an unattainable delicacy brought forth from the sea gods (who even still don't get a tip)

It sounds like a second line jazz funeral. It almost happened.

Now he's going to need to move money to a more stable country.

Of course this is a 100% mythical, non-historical story. But have any of you ever thought what would happen if the Sea of Reeds, or the Jordan River for that matter, really were parted? It’d be like damming it up. The part that is restricted would flood the otherwise dry land and kill thousands, or tens of thousands.

Ever think about why didn’t Yahweh simply teleport the Israelites to the other side, or build a bridge for them to walk on, or simply let them walk on the water like Jesus was said to have done?

The truth is the plot requires it. Moses and Joshua were emulating creation, when God created the firmament to divide the waters from the waters in Genesis 1.

Moses didn't part the Red Sea, God did it to get his people across and then it folded in on the Pharoah's chariots.

Cargo cult behavior. If I do this one isolated thing that is unrelated to anything that God asks of me today, I will be exalted like Moses.

God only requires us to live our lives as it comes. God will help us do it. But not help with retarded stunts like this.
