Cmon guys corn farmers work hard and just need a little help. What if somebody shut your business down because of a political whim

Most corn is used for livestock. They're not going out of business unless the US goes total vegetarian and we put the last remaining cows in the zoo.

Gonna be a lot of pissed off corn farmers over this.

I paid .50 more per gallon for corn free gas the other day than regular unleaded. So, will that price level out more if corn is taken out of our gas or will it remain at a high price as it presently does?
It's more expensive because ethanol blends are watered down while non-ethanol is pure gasoline. Price per gallon should drop slightly but the real savings will be from not having to fill your tank as often.
If he does away with the ethanol mandate, get me a coat.

Too big to fail. That's like 'think of the children...'
There are other crops they could plant to profit from, either to make ethanol from, or 'other stuff' from.

I realize that government intervention in the fuel market is extensive, and also that a lot of time and money was invested to create this ethanol industry. To end it abruptly would cause serious harm to a big segment. They need to find a way to phase it out.
Spot on.
We were Nationally vulnerable re energy supply when that program was started; pre-Fracking, and our Energy bonanza.
Trump needed those Iowa votes for a close election. He'll do right by the Farmers and those who invested in E Infrastructure for the greater good. I'll be the Farmers don't put that crap in their boat or chainsaw.

Feds legalize growing weed in Iowa.
Problem solved.

Ethanol is subsidized. They don't have to worry about finding a market, unlike other crops.

Minimal lost votes in comparison to the multitude of voters that will benefit from not having to fund or use this costly experiment.

Trump breaking promises for the state of Iowa. Not good

Bloomberg

Trump was generally very supportive of the ethanol law, saying he is "100 percent" behind the ethanol industry, a powerful force in Iowa. "As president, I will encourage Congress to be cautious in attempting to charge and change any part of the RFS," he said.
Bloomberg

As he sought votes during last year’s Iowa caucuses, candidate Donald Trump courted farmers with praise for ethanol and promises that he would boost the home-grown fuel.

We have to go bigger than just ethanol. It's time to phase out corn subsidies altogether. What the hell, let's phase out sugar subsidies too.
