Cali will never fix itself....it will take federal intervention!
Too many progs to combat....and they break the law daily, and nothing happens!

Some of that will go to Nick Shirley. Right?

Control the purse, control the narrative.

Nothing says "independent journalism" more than getting millions from the California state government.

VOR 100% sees no problem with this

Libs see nothing wrong here
Of course not, they see government more involved in anything, as a good thing. Paid propaganda, paid votes, paid assistant living, paid illegals to come here. What could go wrong?

Our media is almost the same as the BBC. Just another arm of the government.

Every article they publish should have a warning at the bottom regarding where the funding comes from

In most states they already have programs or laws that require public notices and minutes of meetings to be published in an official journal.
In most cases the law is written as to specify a once regional newspaper as the official journal for a jurisdiction. With the advent of the internet and shrinking publishing days to almost nothing, this law should be repealed as it only serves as a subsidy in our changing world.

When the DNC sends out daily talking points, anything that goes against those talking points should be considered original reporting

They are all simultaneously sent a list of do's and dont's.

Try being a Republican in that state. Got moved for my job to San Jose.
I am from conservative family and the first time i went to San Francisco for a Baseball game to see the Astros visiting and i had never seen anything like that in my life.
Homeless sleeping on the sidewalks and the smell was so bad. And i had never seen two men kissing before.
From then on if i went to a game at Giants park i went to game and went home. It is a beautiful city but it has been taken over by the deviants.
And at the top of the list is Newsome.

Gavin Newsom would make Edwin Edwards blush when it comes to corruption.

I'm looking forward to hearing all the Cali Shirley types "original reporting" on how they were denied the money.

Not good.
However, the problem is Craigslist and FB Marketplace destroyed the classified ad revenue for newspapers. Facebook, Google, and Youtube pirate their content and get away with it. Then news aggregators such as Newsbreak steal their content again.
Even TV stations face this problem although they were better equipped to handle the new age than newspapers were.
A friend owns a weekly here. Does a solid job. He is conservative. He is worried about the future of his paper. He does pretty much everything right and he is struggling.
