The New Yorker has rescinded its invitation to former White House strategist Steve Bannon to its festival after stars like Jim Carrey, Jimmy Fallon, Judd Apatow, John Mulaney, and Patton Oswalt said they were pulling out in protest.
After the initial invite to the controversial Bannon caused an uproar, David Remnick, the magazine’s editor, told staff members on Monday that he is canceling the former Breitbart chief’s appearance.
‘I don’t want well-meaning readers and staff members to think that I’ve ignored their concerns,’ Remnick told New Yorker staff members.
What an ambarrassment

More tolerance by the self proclaimed tolerant left.

More from the tolerant left.

Wouldn't it be better to offer to debate Bannon or even use your own speech to comment on his horrible opinions and expose his racism? Running away is a weak response.

For people who are obsessed with diversity, intellectual diversity appears to be a non-starter for libs.

Sounds like a lot of people afraid to have a conversation.

They're just pussies covering that by faking outrage.

I like how Mullaney tried to discredit Bannon as some type of non-intellectual, when in reality he's extremely knowledgable and well-read on essentially all issues that matter.

so tolerant, so accepting
I am glad to see the open arms of the left welcoming and including all.
such hypocrites

You dont show up, you lose. Period.

Jimmy Fallon tried to stay out of the political stuff at first. When he “humanized” Trump by messing with his hair, they crushed him over it and he changed his tune soon after.
It’s a shame how openly weak-willed some of these people are.

So 1 has more power than 5. What a brilliant strategy to assure greater attendance. Build up interest for the anti-Trump crowd to suddenly care about the event because their self-appointed white supremacist had his invite taken back. Now all the anti-Trump people who didn't give a shite about these guests suddenly will. Wow.

It would be interesting to list the extreme far left guests who have been a part of this " festival" which most of us have never heard of until now. So they can go ahead and have their little echo chamber of an event and clap clap clap for all those people who think like them. Clearly there were not enough of them in the places that mattered in November of 2016 and now they are so butt hurt. They can't beat Trump and the Republicans in the market place of ideas so they hide behind agneda politics and petty media orchestrated stunts like this as they become less and less relevant.

The New Yorker is a failing lib rag with horrible writers, horrible illustrations and they're about to go out of business.
Easy to see why.
Here they had an opportunity to win over a few tigerdroppings posters by inviting Bannon in--and they even fricked that up
